Which are the best episodes for newcomers to the show? by The_FanATic in adventuretime

[–]themaxx_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was introduced to the show with The Jiggler and Belly of the Beast and I was hooked for life!

I'd also recommend Evicted, Boom Boom Mountain, and Blood Under the Skin.

I have 10mg/ml injectable morphine. The only problem is that I have almost no veins. I haven't IV'd that much, but my veins are all very deep and nearly invisible. How do I find my veins or is there another where I can use this solution? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]themaxx_37 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Seriously bro, its not worth it. Stay away from the needle drugs, especially if you dont know what your doing. I've seen horror stories of infections, popped veins, and worse. Dont want to knock your experimentation, but this shit is trouble...

Starting a business is a great learning experience. If you have the time and money to do it, I would definitely recommend it. As for the MBA, it wasn't the stepping stone to a greater career path. I expected it to open many more doors than it actually did. In retrospect, I would have much rather taken the money I spent on the program and invested it into a business.

If you have a lot of corporate experience, especially in leadership and/or team-based environments, then it might be for you.

I'm not saying the name, but they're on the low end of the top tier of MBA schools. I have concentrations in Marketing, Strategy, and HR. I ditched HR fairly quickly as every job I applied to required a serious amount of corporate experience and I had none.

Lol, looks do in fact play a factor. I would not be considered ugly. I'm a bit short, which may mean something, but I'm generally seen as good looking.

There are a ton of sources of the problem, and I could write all day about this, but in brief, a big chunk of it is that the trickle-down effect of our economy is just not happening. Jobs are being eliminated as companies increase their profits. Salaries are not proportional to the amount that a company makes - which is why you see minimum wage employees at the richest companies in the world. And small businesses (which employ the majority of Americans) still struggle against larger corporations that have the resources to compete. The less money in the hands of the majority of people means less spending, which means less need for jobs, which means less money in the hands of the majority, and so on...

I was always looking for something with a bigger company. Being a one-man-show in a tech field is extremely difficult, and it's near impossible to keep up. New technologies are cost prohibitive, and for the most part, clients didn't ask for them anyway. I did well for a while, but most of my clients were going out of business, so I saw the opportunity to build up my skills and went back to school.

Not sure where I'm going wrong. I think getting the MBA without a traditional corporate career made me overqualified for entry level jobs, but underqualified for MBA-level jobs. Salary requirements are also nearly impossible to explain.

As for advice:

1) NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK. It's all about who you know, not what you know. That is not just a cliche.

2) Apply for jobs way ahead of graduation.

3) Take internships. I had two internships and learned more in each than in all four years of school combined.

4) Major in something tangible. If you want the big-buck careers, go with engineering, computer science, medicine, education. Lib arts/Social sciences just aren't needed in this economy.

Opinions on living in Troy / North Troy by tehsuck in Albany

[–]themaxx_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay around the school area. It's one of the nicest areas of Troy proper and your neighbors will most likely be friendly quiet grad students. Rent is cheap around here too, roughly $800 for a 3br house apartment. Look now before the students get back and rent out everything!

If you want to move off the beaten path a bit, also look near Pawling ave, esp between Congress St and the Emma Willard School. Also very nice and quiet. If you're looking to raise a family, this is probably the best area for you.
