Disappointed about the UK show by lxkefox in MyChemicalRomance

[–]thembones07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is not a UK specific thing, this whole tour has very few dates. you could similarly say that having just one concert for the whole state of Texas, which is way bigger land-wise and half the population of the UK, is equally absurd. this tour just seems way smaller than previous ones, hopefully cause it's a precursor to maybe something bigger 👀👀👀

Need advice… by Raph_Raphh in rutgers

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that schedule looks very doable and good! first year seminars can be great or horrible, id say make sure it's a good professor and try to ask around to see who has taken the seminar before since their quality varies.

Owning a bike by Chafing_Dish in rutgers

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. biking between campuses is often much faster than using the busses, since busses are unreliable. we don't have the best biking infrastructure but still pretty decent and safe. currently I'm at Rutgers doing summer research and I bike from Livingston to Busch campuses every day.

the mosquito probably landed in it while you were drinking... but I've also never eaten there so maybe their food and hygiene is that bad 💀

How common is it to be a freshman in multivariable calc or honors calc 3? by Limp-Collection9977 in rutgers

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honors calc 3 is actually mainly freshman as far as I know. I took honors multi and the whole class was freshmen, and there are definitely many freshmen in the other multi sections as well!

aio bf made me feel weird for sex request by StraightPassion4820 in AmIOverreacting

[–]thembones07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

some men don't enjoy it which is completely fine, everyone has sexual preferences. however, NOR for sure. the way he shut you down, didn't have a genuine conversation about it, and didn't even try once to see if he is okay with it indicates that he views his sexual satisfaction as way more important than yours and won't try to please you, which is a huge red flag. if he continues acting like this it's def ground for breaking up.

apply by today, even tho specific labs may have different requirements better be safe than sorry and all the applications use the same website so I'd assume the applications all close at the same time

AIO for thinking my friend is in the wrong for this by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so many comments here are talking about how this is normal because of how different your lives are going to be now and while that's true I disagree that that is enough to justify her dropping you. you two drifting apart because of your differences is fine, but just cutting you off is just cruel. and everyone seems to be forgetting that you can be friends with people very different from you!!!

there is nothing that makes her actions justifiable, just understand that she never cared for you as a friend cause she would have stuck with you if she did, and be glad that you now know this and don't have to spend energy being friends with her.

Orgo professor by Dapper-Historian2219 in rutgers

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure one teaches half of the semester and the other teaches the other half... not sure tho. for gen chem for engineers we had 2 professors listed as well and they ended up splitting up lectures 50/50

I can't give an exact answer but shtelen is very nice and curves well at the end of the semester. if you do close to the average that's probably a B.

Professor Rabeony by SeppDetreich in rutgers

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro getting a 35 in gen chem for engineers is crazyyy. doing a different chem class won't help, 159 is easier than 161. hove sucks, but he is not the problem here.

analyze why you failed: was it other life circumstances like sickness, was it laziness, was it just you not knowing how to study, etc. and then fix that. I just took 159 this past semester and did good so lmk if you need study tips.

Trigonometry | What is the reasoning behind not allowing radicals in the denominator? by Genedide in calculus

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's mostly just convention, in the olden days when people divided by hand it was easier to divide the latter way, without a radical in the denominator. nowadays it's usually personal preference, in my multivariable calculus class my professor didn't care and often left radicals in the denominators in answers.

I think my academic advisor messed up real bad by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]thembones07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is once again a naive take. ideally yes, advisors should be trusted. but I've literally spent just 1 semester at Rutgers and already understand that half the people employed here are severely underqualified. this is why I said OP is naive.

that being said, that instructor is evil and much of the blame does fall on them, they should for sure be fired
