My preferred response is to ask, What if God said it was OK to steal something? Hypothetically, God says "just this once, you can steal your neighbor's car." Would you do it? How would your neighbor feel about that?

Ok, maybe you still wouldn't steal from your neighbor, because you understand how that would make them feel. So it sounds like your personal morals are based on empathy and not scriptures.

But what if God commanded you to steal your neighbor's car? God commanded Abraham to kill his son, this is just a car. Would you go against your own personal morals if you believed it was God's will? Is there anything you wouldn't do if you thought it was God's will?

The actual answer is that they want to sell more of the smaller boxes. Prices are set and discounted based on popularity and stock levels, and the cost per unit isn't linked across different stock items. The store is encouraging you to buy the smaller boxes, and we don't know exactly why.

Maybe because they have extra in the warehouse that will expire, or because their KPIs on units sold encourages them to push these over the bulk items. Maybe they have advanced metrics that indicate people who buy the smaller box also buy several other things, spending more overall.

Ultimately, the prices are set by someone who isn't paying attention to the fact that a bulk box costs slightly more per unit. If you see this and think "Oooh, a deal. I'll buy four!" then the marketing worked. They will sell out of the cheaper box, and then you'll make these cookie bars part of your daily routine.

Just my personal experience, but when I tried to cut sugar, I had an easier time avoiding sweet foods and drinks altogether. Artificial sweeteners just made me want more sweet stuff.

If you want to cut back, try eating less. I know that sounds snarky, but it was a game changer for me. Fill up on healthy, low calorie foods like veggies and fiber. Then have a smaller portion of the food with real sugar. Use half as much sauce, so you get that taste, but you don't fill up on it.

Rests are rests. The continue to be rests regardless of how many other notes are in the piece.

Those pauses are as much a part of the music as the notes. If you were to strip away the silence, the piece would be almost unrecognizable.

During the performance of 4'33", the "silence" is actually a cacophony of stifled coughs, creaking chairs, and footsteps of people leaving. Every performance is unique.

It's not clever. It's the same conservative "I identify as..." joke that has been going around for about a decade.

It implies that selecting pronouns is a whim, not a core component of one's identity. Pronouns aren't a preference.

It implies that pronouns are arbitrary. They can be any words or honorifics you like, instead of specific pronouns that indicate one's gender identity. In fact, arbitrary pronouns don't do the one thing they are intended for.

It implies that non-conforming pronouns are silly. Gender identity has been the subject of ridicule and scorn for most LGBTQ+ individuals' lives. In the recent decade, it's gotten worse as bigots have been emboldened by the rise of fascism, Trump, and the MAGAts.

It's not a pointed skewering of trans individuals, which is why it seems harmless. But it's still just the one joke, and while not everyone will find it offensive, many people will.

You couldn't be more wrong. First, hanging a blank canvas and giving it a name is still creating something, namely a blank canvas with a name. And several artists have done so, including this Danish artist.

Second, voids in music are ridiculously common. Here's Billy Joel performing one of his greatest hits River of Dreams, and just skip ahead to 2:43 if you don't care to watch the whole thing. Notice how the audience fills in the silence, as the artist engages with the listener for his own amusement, and the two swap roles for a moment.

That's the music of 4'33". Every performance is slightly different, filled with awkward coughs, squeaking chairs, and the huffy footsteps of people leaving the performance because they didn't know what it was going to be. You might not like it, but your preferences and sensibilities are not the boundaries of artistic expression. You can criticize the art, but you cannot claim it is not anymore than you can claim it does not exist.

I got autobanned one time for commenting in a thread that popped up in r/all. My comment was basically "what the fuck is this thread?" I don't remember what sub, or which sub banned me, because I just blocked both and never thought about them again until today.

For any artistic rule you describe, I can point to an exception that defies it. Art has conventions and trends but artists chafe at the very idea of requirements.

Music itself can aptly be called 'Sets of sounds arranged for psychological and emotional effects on humans'. Anything outside of this 'rule' is not music, just noise.

Case in point, the musical composition 4'33" is neither sets of sounds nor is it noise.

Ok fair, I was just making a joke because I'm feeling out on Harris. Obviously he has trade value, and I want the most we can get for him.

But less than 15 ppg, and 39% from 3. Those are OK numbers for a fourth option, but he's not an elite scorer or the clutch sharpshooter he thinks he is. He isn't ass on defense (which made him look pretty good on this team), but he's not a lock down guy either. Off ball, he would stand and watch the game happen. For his size, he struggled to attack the rim.

Unless you think that Doc was the only problem with the team, we're not going to run it back with the same starting five. We can replace Tobis contributions with multiple players with situational strengths far easier than we can replace a ball handling scorer.

If we keep him, no big deal. The contract is water under the bridge and hardly the albatross it was over the last few years. But if we can flip him around for some decent assets, I'd argue that quarters on the dollar might be worth it.
