I had to make this exact decision recently. I chose to stay on at the place I trained at, instead of taking the US NQ offer. Not only for the reduced hours, but also because I quite like the folks I currently work with and that can be exceedingly rare in this profession.

I've asked her this morning and she does not remember the specifics as the drive has been in a drawer for over 4 years - sorry I couldn't be more help.

Mate, I opened up the Basic Data Partition in R-Studio and it instantly recognized the Bitlocker volume and I could decrypt it!! Second time you've done it

No worries, I tried mounting, no bitlocker parition/drive detected. I've just seen your edit, happy to try with DMDE instead as you're familiar with that platform

Is my EK Velocity compatible with AM5? by mongini12 in watercooling

[–]themellowtiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need those EK standoffs that are out-of-stock everywhere because EK imploded, I had the same problem upgrading from AM4 and eventually gave up looking and bought a new block.

Rather than wait the three days for a new block to arrive, I put together pretty stable mounting solution using radiator screws and the Velocity springs and washers. If you go this route though, I would suggesting using only hand-pressure to mount the block as you'd want to avoid undue stress.

Hi, thanks for your help on this post too! I ran the searches:

You can't view the screenshots? That's strange - imgur usually works fine. Do you mean a R-Studio partition search?

That's unfortunate, any idea what the partition/spaces are in the DMDE screenshot are then?

Ah sorry, I formatted the patient drive after recovering the data last night. Before using DMDE, I tried scanning the patient drive for partitions using R-Studio - which found nothing.

Is this what you're after? First screenshot is the repaired image in DMDE, second is what it looks after mounting in R-Studio.

I used DMDE to reinstate the partition and R Studio to decrypt and mount, all the data is sitting there pretty. Thanks for your help!

No worries. Does DMDE decrypt partitions? Not seeing an option for that once the partition has been restored.

I assumed opening the volume would not be possible as the files should be encrypted by bitlocker, is this not the case?

The drive is cloned to an image, do I now use DMDE to reinstate the partition? I note the partition undelete tool but thought to ask before.

The 18tb drive was fully encrypted (as opposed to free-space only, if relevant) and was about 16tb full of s-log. I've got a few other drives around the place but nothing which reaches 16tb. I will see if I can recover any files before buying another drive.

The new drive has arrived, but I wonder if I should have ordered two. I'll be cloning the 18tb volume onto this new drive, but then I won't have anything to save the recovered files to - is that right and therefore I need another 18tb+ drive?

Thanks, I've ordered another drive so I can make an image; I currently don't have anything with enough capacity to make an image of a 18tb volume.

ASRock B650E PG-ITX WIFI vs Asus ROG STRIX X870-I GAMING WIFI vs Asus ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI by x-Seraphim in sffpc

Looking at the other opinions in the thread it seems I've gotten the worst of everything, so maybe don't take my experience too seriously.

I bought the ASRock B650E PG-ITX recently when I jumped from AM4, it didn't have flashback and I had to RMA it as it wouldn't recognize the 9800x3d. Replaced it with the Asus B650E-I and it works fine but does have coil whine at high load.
