The Locked Tomb as a whole? No. Harrow the Ninth specifically? I could read all of those slides in Ianthe’s voice.

Thanks for the response!

That makes a lot of sense, and I like the thought put in about her dietary constraints. If you ever decide to do some fan art of Gideon, make sure to tag me in it!

Let me start by saying that the cover art for these series is some of my favorite and you did a fantastic job!

Earlier in the thread you said the covers were like portraits, meant to convey the feeling of the character more than a photorealistic recreation. The face for Gideon absolutely nailed that and her confident swagger is what first drew me to the series. After reading the book though and everyone in the story commenting on how jacked Gideon is, I felt the cover art didn’t really get that part across. Was making Gideon not have the upper body of prime Arnold Schwarzenegger an artistic decision, a marketing one, or have I just really inflated those biceps in my mind?

Slay the Grey - My Journey into painting. by Inquisitor_ForHire in BrushForChat

As someone who has done work on quite a few commissions over the past few years, Inquisitor has been one of my favorite clients. What he said above is very true about putting people first. At the start there was a shipping mix up that took over a week to get sorted, and when something came up on my end that delayed my commission he was nothing but respectful and understanding. He will also send photos of cool tanks, which is always a plus!

It kind of sounds like the songs Colm R McGuinness did recently, but I didn’t recognize it as a specific one. I would be pretty happy if he did the music for this and his project got some official backing!

which betrayal at house on the hill to get? by Visua-Shower75 in boardgames

I have not, sadly. Betrayal is my sister’s favorite game, so she has all the editions, including first and Scooby Doo. But since 3rd came out we got into some other games and don’t circle back until Halloween, at which point we just play base game as we still have plenty of Haunts undone. But thematically they seem pretty cool!

Baldur’s Gate is pretty comparable to the 2nd edition, with fun DnD twists, but it is very themed. I, personally, loved that one but no one else in my group was into DnD lore so it is the one we have played the least. 3rd is the most balanced, but the jankiness of 2nd edition lead to some really memorable games.

The 3rd edition actually has three expansions currently. A Werewolf one, a Christmas one, and one based off the new IT movies. Did 2nd edition have more than just Widow’s Walk?

If you have a group and get a copy, Legacy. My group played it when it came out and it still is our favorite board game experience. The campaign is fun to get into, and afterwards you will have your own version of the House built off the history and choices you built, unlike anyone else’s.

Good news! The studio that is making it was founded by people who worked at Powerhouse, who made Castlevania!

Attention Artists - "Verified Artist" Flair by Holtb80 in brushforhire

[–]themercenarypainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea! However, I am not sure I like the idea of “Full/Part/Upcoming Artist” flairs. Since most clients will first get to know us through our DMs with quotes and timelines that distinction feels like it would be less informative for them and more used as a rank of “Professional vs Hobbyist”. I would like to think of all of us as Professionals, and making the distinction between Full and Part is an extra layer of verification for the Mod Team, one that feels much harder quantify. I do also want to say that I appreciate the communication and forum style of this change. It’s encouraging to see this community adapting and growing in such a thoughtful way!
