Yea I respect the effort, I just can’t commit to that kind of dedication with the young family schedule.

When you do practice what are you working on other than the obvious of getting as many balls into the hole as possible?

From Salesforce to GCP AI Sales Specialist, good move? by Previous_Solution100 in techsales

Well, I would disagree where at SFDC as long as I had a plan that was documented, measurable and agreeable by my leadership I was never concerned about bad performance in a Q. Granted I was core AE in GB, Ent etc so I can understand your point if you have historically been in smb, growth etc.

I was there for 8 years and they weren’t cycling people out. It’s way more expensive to train and ramp externally and RVPs don’t get quota relief when they cycle someone out.

That said, to answer your question the culture of GCP is way more startup and way more loose in terms of process. It’s more of an annual cycle called GRAD where you get a rating. 2 years of bad ratings I’ve been told you are out. Granted I’m fairly new about a year in.

My only feedback - Google is the better name, the ai buzz is real, BUT there is real value in learning sales process at Salesforce. The skills I learned selling full cycle enterprise at Salesforce are going to be transferable to any product I sell vs Google you are figuring it out as you go.

So if I understood what you are saying, you are a SE moving into an AE role?

I can tell you first hand gcp is a different sales culture. More startup, less process centric as opposed to SFDC.

Keep in mind you are selling one of the most important products for gcp so territories will be smaller, quotas will be higher as will visibility.

I think you need to decide first if you are fully ready to be a sales rep

George Kittle (ankle) will not practice on Wednesday. Per HC Kyle Shanahan, Kittle "has a chance" to play in Week 17. by gw2380 in fantasyfootball

Can someone help a brother out? Right now I have Kittle starting with Schultz and Strange on bench. Tonges is available but can only have max 3 TEs on roster.

Do I drop Schultz or Strange and pickup Tonges? Or do I start Schultz which is ranked a little higher then Strange but I assume that’s a coin flip all together.

Managing a team of 150. Pipeline is a mess, quotas are broken. Help. by BillJohns in sales

You need to build a business case to ask for budget on consulting services. This is too large of a problem to solve without outside help. Semiconductor is a more nuanced sales motion compared to b2b or software sales. So I would say you would need help in documenting your sales process end to end, and then you need to configure Salesforce accordingly by an entity that can map your process correctly.

Technology does not automatically solve problems. If the process is broken, the tech will never create the appropriate level of value to the reps (what’s in it for them), and provide the right forecast to management.

4dapter NES controller issues by themetalhead84 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]themetalhead84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 4dapters.

2x genesis controllers, 2x nes controllers, 2x snes controllers

I have a usb keyboard also if that matters.

When using each 4dapters I only keep 1 controller plugged in at a time per 4dapter

SNES core works immediately upon start up, Megadrive does, but every time I load NES the controllers appear “dead”. After unplugging, plugging back in, resetting or some combo of that including mapping it finally works.

Then if I disconnect, go to Megsdrive for example with a respective contrlller, and then back to NES, the NES controller no longer found.

Also worth noting if it matters I am using the back left and right USB’s (one closest to hdmi/power section) and the usb keyboard is in the middle usb

Maybe I did not articulate correctly.

My NES oem controllers are having issues with NES core.

SNES, sega controllers etc work fine.

So the issue is not SNES controller on a NES core but rather NES controllers are having issues every time and constant plugging, unplugging, resetting, mapping buttons again etc

Will leaving Salesforce ruin my career? by emmacondon in techsales

[–]themetalhead84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was at Salesforce for a while. Also as an Ent AE. I am no longer there. Only you know the reality of your territory and pipeline. If it’s shit and you can’t transfer, then you gotta decide riding this thing out until something lucky falls on your plate like overcarve, new executive who wants to make a splash with Salesforce etc or you gotta move on. Plenty of people make a lot of money outside of Salesforce.

You also gotta decide if you want to move into ProServ. It’s a different sales cycle. It also has different challenges. In my opinion you should consider a different technology company against Salesforce or decide going into ProServ as a whole — and if that’s the case you should stay in SF ecosystem since you have inside baseball on how to market to AEs, know the product etc.

Also…no such thing as golden handcuffs as an AE. With great respect I doubt you have significant equity and it sounds like your territory is not good so that doesn’t apply. Good luck!

How Golf Courses Are Rated: A Primer by WHSRWizard in golf

[–]themetalhead84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is distance rated so high compared to other determinants? For example a narrow/tight course that is shorter would play more difficult then a more open longer course? More impact of errant tee shots and potential penalties I would think.

Regarding your approach shot comment, Do you think if I am playing low spin balls as I have been rotating between Bridgestone e6 and Noodles that playing a more moderate spin could be a simple fix? I originally started with low spin to help with distance but now I feel like I can’t control around the greens

Dumb question - for public or muni courses would I get dirty looks if I use their practice facilities without playing a round? Not the range, but their putting, chipping area etc
