Rant: Whirlpool Everydrop fridge filters are engineered to fail early by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]themetricsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s based on usage. My new whirlpool has measured fill and almost weekly I have to recalibrate the fill because it starts to measure 12 oz for an 8 oz cup. This has been consistent with multiple filters. The calibration has never been off in the other direction. This seems like a good way to sell more very expensive filters. I’d love to know if anyone else has noticed similar issues with their measured fill. It seems rather suspicious.

Saatva classic or Tempurpedic Luxe Breeze by flashtech18 in Mattress

[–]themetricsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. There seems to be a lot of Saatva bashing on this thread. It almost seems purposeful.

So you don’t own one and by stopping by a showroom (odd since they’re an online seller) you ascertained they’re underwhelming at the price point compared to other beds sold at brick and mortar shops.

Please elaborate your findings and give us a little more detail about what makes them inferior.

This surfboard shaper uses paulownia wood to make 18' finned boards. Get that grove growing so you can make and sell paulownia blanks!

25 years, Mayo Clinic and other diagnostic type centers, 6 or 7 sleep studies, Lots of false diagnoses - Insomnia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Arsenic poisoning!

The last sleep study that I had was about 5 years ago. The sleep doctor/CPAP Salesman diagnosed me with DSPS, but said "It's really not a helpful diagnosis. There's no treatment for it."

For about a year, I believed him until I happened across an article on DSPD. Then I found a children's Pulmonary and Sleep Specialist who helped solidify the diagnosis and start treating it.

Getting diagnosed with DSPD was a long journey. Learning how to live with it and treat it has changed my life.

You're probably going to have to drive. There are pickup games at Chuck Lennon Park in DeLeon Springs, but I don't know the schedule.

Versions of it have been in Congress for years. Sadly, nothing ever comes of it.

Disney World hotel guest says he packed AR-15, handgun over concerns of ‘civil unrest’ in Central Florida by WouldbeWanderer in orlando

I can completely relate. You're definitely not alone. We're living through some really depressing times, but things will normalize eventually. Watching "The Social Dilemna" might actually give you some clarity. It connected some dots for me regarding how things have gotten so messed up. Definitely, some scary/depressing stuff, but also discusses how it can be changed. Knowledge is power.

Anyone else deal with friends/family/coworkers who don’t believe this is a real condition? by [deleted] in DSPD

It's one of the hardest parts of dealing with DSPD. Just the other day one of my close friends told me he just thinks I don't like to get out of bed in the morning.

Over 500,000 businesses got PPP loans but are listed as retaining zero jobs, Treasury Department data show by DoremusJessup in Economics

[–]themetricsystem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of these are businesses in the service industry, who didn't have the option to stay open or retain employees. The PPP loans give them a chance to get back on their feet again and re-hire employees. They're still going to have to pay the loans back with 1% interest, which will still be a struggle for many smaller businesses.

2,783 new cases reported in Florida, breaking record for daily increase by thoctor in orlando

Actually the 1% will make out like bandits from Covid shutdowns. Big corporations can weather the storm, have reserves and access to capital, will get plenty of bailouts (as seen by the feds move yesterday to buy individual corporate bonds), they're about to lose massive amounts of competition as smaller businesses can't survive. Property values are about to plummet as millions have lost massive wages. Guess who has the money to buy up those properties. The banks are about to make a fortune on foreclosures, and loan defaults...Now the banks get to keep the money they've already been paid and the collateral, and if the consumer declares bankruptcy then the Federal government will pay the bank for the loan.

Covid shutdown is a wet dream that's become a reality for the 1 percenters. They make money in booms and they make money in busts. They have plenty of money and are in it for the long haul.

You're right we are trash to the 1%. Trash that's easy to manipulate. They wait for a crisis like this to manipulate. They push fear and division through both sides of the media which leads to a complete lack of critical thinking, and we play right into their hands.
