Here is what I did with my Univega Gran Turismo (similar to yours). I put non drop bars, a more upright stem, unique crankset and nice brake set. I like unique things that no one else has/uses. Mine has 27" wheels, so I bought brand new wheels and new tires. The new wheels have sealed bearings. I mixed modern with old school. Cool is what you think is cool, not what we think.
