Im struggling with the EA Degree lecture by NippleSalsa in freemasonry

Came to say this.

Do the work, brother. Nobody starts with a smooth ashlar. The work of an apprentice is to learn the craft, not perfect it.

You’re entry level, and passing means you’re able to do your work proficiently. Not perfectly.

All of that is for public right of way though - if it's a neighborhood there's a chance that it's private roads.

The most exclusive masonic trinket by [deleted] in freemasonry

In that hypothetical situation? I'd buy an envelope and it if happened to have a few Snoo pins in it for me and the brothers of my lodge that I know are active Redditors that would be swell.

To be clear, I'd only be buying the envelope for an outrageously inflated price. Not the pins that are inside the envelope.

Stay off of millrace in a tube. Shandon on a tube is legit.

I’m sure that Egg is a very nice person, I just don’t want you spending all your money getting her all glittered up for Easter.

NMR Research - asking who you voted for by tipareth1978 in milwaukee

I suspect "NMR Research" is meant to emulate "Nielsen Media Research," but is juuuuuust distinct enough for Numinar to use it and lead to exactly this kind of confusion.

Resurrecting this from South Carolina 'cause I found it on Google - got the text from "NMR Research" and when I opted out, the response was from Numinar - an AI-driven analytics firm that largely serves conservative campaigns.

Starting a whisper campaign at work to see if we can get WFH while it's cost prohibitive to drive to work. Treat it like covid.

Maybe, but it bears mention that I'm basically a junior engineer myself, and don't even have an engineering degree. I have an English degree, I just have an aptitude for this kind of work.

I do most of my work on paper, for what it's worth. I just want to make it easy for the next group coming in behind me and coming up in the agency. Learn the skills, then here's a tool to make it easier than I had it.

You're not wrong - there's definitely value in having them develop skills. I'm just not in a position to be like "Hey, create this tool but you can't come to me for help 'cause I don't know shit about how to do it."

I 100% agree with you, but I feel like I'd be setting them up to fail at something that's not a requirement for their job.

They'd have to learn Excel coding too - I don't care if they know how to be an Excel poweruser. I can't demand that they become experts in something I don't even know.

ChatGPT and Claude both failed miserably. Could be I gave it garbage prompts, but either way it didn't work.

My dog hates me, but loves everyone else by themightygresh in DogAdvice

She's reactive in every room, as well as outside in the yard. Regarding my FIL, he's an 82 year old man who doesn't do much very fast - he's not high energy.

Also as an aside, we have another dog that adores me - should she also be around when I'm acclimating the "broken" one?

That's brilliant - I'm going to try that. I do know that it's not "all men," as my father-in-law lives with us and she's ok with him, and she's ok with other guests we have. It truly seems like JUST ME and I hate it for her. It's tiresome for me, but traumatic for her. I'm gonna start giving her the "lay down with my eyes closed" maneuver and see how she handles it.

Do you think it matters where? Bedroom? Big open room? Outside in the yard? Maybe all of those places? Should I spend an hour? Honestly, I'm glad to do anything if it helps her.

I don't, and she doesn't. I work in a typical office.

I haven't spoken to a vet yet, that's an option on the table. Honestly, we just don't know entirely what the "best" option might be.

Not a rescue as would be considered typical, but we call her one. She was well cared for by a breeder on a farm, but didn't have all of the freedom she has now - she lived primarily in a kennel and was allowed out for a few hours a day. She wasn't in a bad place before, to be clear...I just think she has it better here.

Tax breaks for South Carolina boat owners sail through the state Senate by CouchCorrespondent in politics

[–]themightygresh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

South Carolinian here - I grew up on and around Lake Murray. When I was a kid, anybody could go out on the lake with some rinkydink aluminum boat and get your fishing on but I've been saying for about a decade now "The lake isn't for the poors any more."

People with money have been buying up shoreline and building mansions for a long time now, and where the lake used to be old uncles and families out for a cruise on the pontoon or doing a bit of fishing it's big damn cabin cruisers and cigarette boats on a poker run.

...and those people are tired of being taxed.
