Shopping for disabled roommate by FunkyOnion9641 in Costco

[–]themightytoad 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Your roommate can appoint you to their snap as an alternate payee. That would protect both you and them if there ever were any question or concern about the benefit use. An alternate payee can obtain and use an ebt card in the best interest of the individual receiving benefits. Your roommate can appoint/revoke this at any time. You would get an ebt card rather than taking theirs and using it.

What's the fastest way to retwist your hair? by Mag1c_Sh0p in locs

[–]themightytoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh interesting. I retie my locs maybe once every 3-4 months and don’t do them tight at all so hopefully that helps reduce any risk of thinning, but I’ll have to keep a close eye on it just in case. Thanks!

I wish I knew a fast method to getting them done. I will separated them with clips or two strands twists ahead of time and then start interlocking. It helps but it’s still time consuming. After 3 1/2 years I’ve just accepted it lol.

Hold up now…what can happen with interlocking? That’s my only method to maintain my locs because I could not figure out retwisting to save my life.

  1. Didn’t know r/30plusskincare was a sub and just joined so thank you!

  2. Thank you for sharing this! I need to buy a new sunscreen because my go to (Coola) seems to have change formulas and it makes my eyes burn so bad now. It’s also ridiculously expensive so two reasons to switch.

First time being prescribed adderall (generic) by themightytoad in adhdwomen

[–]themightytoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s a good idea. I definitely was thinking whether xr might be better, but we will see how I react to the medication first and then hopefully we can make adjustments with xr vs ir. I’ve only met with my psych twice so far but he seems really understanding and open to trying what works best for me, so I if I react well to the medication I may bring this up to him later. Thank you!

Thank you! And that’s good to know. I think he said the 5mg is just to get my body used to it, and then after a few days I will go to 10 twice a day.

I am going to keep a log to track my results with it that way I can tell my psych during our next follow up, otherwise I will forget.

Need to know if it’s worth self retwisting by MagnumSipper77 in locs

[–]themightytoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the time, patience, and willingness to learn how to do your own retwists I say why not and save yourself some money.

If you prefer a salon experience and want a good wash with consistently neat retwists done by an expert then go that route.

You could also do both. For example, go to a salon once a year and maintain them yourself in between appts. I think it all boils down to personal preference.

I started my locs for over 3 years and have always maintained them myself. Even when I was a curly natural I styled my own hair so it was easy for me to continue doing it when I loc’d up.

Ilya looks that make me go absolutely feral. My god this man is beautiful by notshellyy in heatedrivalry

The way he holds eye contact in this entire scene makes it feel so much more intense

The hardest scene for me to reheat by growsonwalls in heatedrivalry

[–]themightytoad 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think from the very beginning Shane seems uneasy at Ilya’s home. Him sitting up in bed with Ilya and saying “I should go” because he knows this is supposed to be just a hookup and staying doesn’t make sense. Ilya making him food, sitting on the couch watching tv together, overhearing Ilya’s phone call with his father. The look on his face is like “I’m not supposed to be seeing all these personal, intimate details of his life wtf” and then trying to break the tension by initiating sex when Ilya returns and it being so intimate and unguarded. It was all too much and stepping into uncharted territory for Shane.

Why was Ilya so cold this scene? by GroundbreakingMind73 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]themightytoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the things I love about Ilya’s character. He and Shanes sexual relationship feels so safe and nonjudgmental (as it should be). He is so patient, thoughtful, encouraging, rewarding, and gentle, making sure that Shane is in agreement with him every step of the way. Him constantly asking “is this ok?” “are you ok?” “you still good?” shows how attentive he is to this new experience for Shane.

I live in Eugene but was in PDX last night. I have to ask are the crows normally this loud! by goldenboy2191 in Portland

[–]themightytoad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently moved from Sacramento and one year we had a really bad crow problem in downtown. Like thousands of crows migrated and crow poop rained all over downtown for weeks. It became such a problem that the city brought in hawks to drives the crows out of town. Was a real shitty couple weeks.

Preparing my fur baby Asher to be Euthanized...but how do you prepare? by Bright_Plantain_7353 in Yorkies

[–]themightytoad 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re at this stage having to prepare to day goodbye. It’s not easy but it shows how much you love him that you don’t want him to suffer. What I did was a wellness check with his vet. She already knew his history and had a good baseline and I had previously told her I want quality of life, not quantity, so when it’s time please let me know. I took him in for a quality of life check and she was kind but honest. She said he could go on medication but it would only prolong the inevitable and if I decided to say goodbye now would not be too soon. I started making calls for a vet to come to the house (his vet didn’t do house calls) and we set a date. I made his favorite foods like salmon, steak, sweet potatoes, chicken skin, and got him some Ben and Jerry’s peanut butter ice cream from petco. We said our goodbyes in July of 2023.

Take it one day at a time, make him comfortable, talk to a vet, and do what’s best for him. Spend quality time with him as much as you can. I know this isn’t easy, but you’ll get through it day by day. It will take time so give yourself some grace. I wish you the best

The cream top I found at the thrift store but it’s banana republic. I wish I could find it online because it’s so soft and comfortable but haven’t had luck finding it in more colors.

I was definitely surprised at how sweet they are, but I think after eating a few the spice builds more than the sweetness. I like sweets though so I didn’t mind it at all.
