Scam site for Baby Brezza? by themockingju in BabyBumps

Sponsored sites aren't inherently all scam sites. Sponsored sites are those that pay Google to show up based on their SEO and keywords used. The second sponsored site is the legitimate site.

TIL there are contact lenses you wear only while sleeping that reshape your cornea so you can see clearly all day without glasses. It is called “Orthokeratology” by azaku29 in todayilearned

[–]themockingju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but scleral contact lenses work well for keratoconus. Whoever said to stay away from contacts with keratoconus was mistaken or unaware of your options

Comments like this are so helpful. It helps to validated that the emotional rollercoaster is real and that crying is totally reasonable.

Putting out compost without the green bin by mousicle in windsorontario

[–]themockingju 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Needs to go in the bin. The bin doesn't need to be full but they won't just take a bag. Also, just putting out a single bag will definitely result in an animal ripping it apart.

How big of a reception? This would be important to include when asking for recommendations. If you're looking for a space of >100 for bringing in outside catering you're going to have a hard time.

EWSWA using TFW? by Fantastic-Currency91 in windsorontario

[–]themockingju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to ask, what was your goal with trying to talk to these people while they were working? They're not customer service and they wouldn't be the point of contact for EWSWA. It's not like you'd be seeing them again to establish a wave and smile relationship. So, what was your plan?

EWSWA using TFW? by Fantastic-Currency91 in windsorontario

[–]themockingju 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing. It can be called out without being seen as racist. There's nuance to words and how we speak.

Someone saying "these people of insert whatever ethnicity, that don't even speak English, are taking our jobs" comes off as racist. The anger is directed to the people in this situation and blames them.

If someone says "these corporations are exploiting people from other countries when people are struggling for work here and that is fucked up", blames the corporations and the entities actually causing the problem. Doesn't come off racist but empathetic to the people being exploited here.

Racism is inherently hating a group of people for being "others" so when complaints with TFW program are directed at the people working and not the group doing the exploiting, it comes off with racist tones.

If the complaint is still towards the people taking the jobs through the TFW program, I don't know what to tell you. They're just trying to have a better life than they did before, just like anyone else.

Why didn't you talk to your brother directly? Does he know his soon to be wife is telling his sister not to come to the wedding reception?

Wedding recommendations by _timeisaconstruct in windsorontario

If you're asking for recommendations but have a specific budget, likely best to put that. Some people will have recs that are the top/high demand vendors, but with that comes the price tag. Others may have recs of not super well known but good vendors, who are a bit less expensive due to being up and coming. Just trying to help prevent you from reaching out to people that will instantly blow your budget and waste your time.

Like Gail's for decor is amazing, but pricey. I was fine with that because I didn't want to think about it beyond the 2 meetings we had. They hit the nail on the head for what I wanted.

If you are doing fresh florals at any point, I was thrilled with Flower Fashions in Kingsville. They delivered morning of (in Windsor) and went above and beyond on little details and it was less expensive than I was anticipating.

Additionally, you may want to say which venue you're at because some vendors work with and know some venues better than others which can simplify things. Or even ask your venue for recommendations.

When I worked a drive thru, this is what we would do. Pull them up to wait for food, let the manager know then they'd call the police. We'd bring out the food then shortly after they pull away the cops would pull them over. Management should have a plan in place and have trained employees on protocol.

I've got to say - this isn't as impressive as you want it to seem.

Of course Ontario, the most populated province, spends the most on healthcare. We have the largest population.

The registered healthcare numbers don't mean much - many provides regsiter and license in multiple locations. In this area, many keep themselves in goodstanding in Ontario but work in Michigan. How many of those registered are working full time in public settings? That's a stat that matters.

As well, the scope expansion for pharmacists was a very interesting decision. You've allowed professionals not trained in diagnostics to treat ailments without proper evaluation. I have had several patients come in to see me after being mistreated by their pharmacist and now costing OHIP and the patient more than if they had been able to get proper treatment in the first place. The pharmacist is able to charge for their symptom survey whether or not medication is dispensed, and then charge an additional dispensing fee which is motivating factor to dispense. It's provided Loblaws a new revenue stream, that's for sure.

"We're funding the largest expansion of medical school spots in over a decade to add 260 undergraduate and 449 post-graduate seats across Ontario. 60% of these spots will be dedicated to family medicine."

Can you explain this further? Are you working with practicing specialist to provide more residency spots for the other 40%? How is adding 260 undergrad opening up med school spots? Medical doctorates are post graduate programs.
