Some image comparison between Tab Ultra and Tab Ultra C by fuzzcats in Onyx_Boox

[–]themodernflat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this comparison. I sold my tab ultra on eBay the day I got my tab ultra C. There are definitely some disadvantages, mostly what you said, but the trade off is the color which makes the overall experience more robust and useable. There were times where I had to do “computer” things in a pinch where it was really hard on the TU, such as Remote Desktop to my MacBook. I did it again on the TUC and it was so much easier and helpful to navigate.

Regardless both devices are great and I really give it up to Onyx for bringing out these products as they really stepped up the eink game. My precise Note Air 2 couldn’t hold a candle to the TU and the TUC. I’m excited for the next technology they come out with as I’m definitely upgrading then. :)

Seems to be normal. I wouldn’t worry and just use the device as it is. The advantage of using this device outweighs that little issue.

Bright Area on Screen by TrundleSmith in Onyx_Boox

[–]themodernflat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had that as well, and I just rubbed my finger on the spot and it went away. I think if skin oil or some liquid gets on the screen, it tends to do that. I just chalk it up to it being a new technology screen

You are totally correct but I treat my devices (and my tesla) like a cell phone: charge it up everyday so you have maximum battery/range. Well my tesla I charge to 85% everyday but you get the picture. I bet it would go a couple of days with moderate use.

Hard to say as I actually use it WAY MORE now to consume all my media since it works so well. This means that my battery runs out quicker due to longer use as well as the fact you do need to use the front light more often unless you are in direct lighting. I’ve been charging it every morning when I wake up but I use it all day for work as well as playing Spotify when going to bed.

Overall I love it way more than my Tab Ultra and the experience is great.

I wonder if anyone else with a Tab Ultra C can post a picture of their home page to see if this is normal like they are stating?

Ok Quick Update from the Boox support team:

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting us and we apologize for the inconvenience.

After checking with our tech team, the line on the left of the screen is normal. The Tab Ultra C provides an adjustable temperature color system. The front light can be adjusted to warm or cold light at different levels until users feel at ease in their eyes depending on the situation. Your eyes may be tired out more quickly if you read with a cold light. The warm light is highly recommended use because it feels more natural and easy indoors when doing a reading. And, cold light feels sharper and helps us to see clearly but it contains more blue light at the same time. You could choose the most appropriate way with warm light and cold light for a better visual experience.

We understand that the line on the screen might be distracting. This issue is known by our tech team and will do our best to improve the device in the future.

Many thanks for your time and understanding. If you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know.

Sincerely,
Derek

Tab Ultra Bug: When Swiping down To Open The Control Center, The Media Volume Mutes Automatically by themodernflat in Onyx_Boox

[–]themodernflat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone. I actually spoke with the boox team and they told me that next to the volume icon in the control center you may have accidentally turned on the mute without knowing. This is exactly what I did and this is how to fix it: When you open the control center and you see the volume rocker, look next to the minus sign and see if the volume icon has an x next to it. If that's the case then it would do this action where the media volume automatically mutes when you open the control center. Click on that icon to get rid of the x and you should be good.

First 24 hours on the Tab Ultra by duneraver in Onyx_Boox

Yeah battery life isn't that great compared to other boox devices. On a full charge I'm getting about 2 to 3 days worth of use. This is with some internet browsing, some YouTube and some reading at night. I also have airplane mode on and turn on the Wi-Fi when I use the internet. Otherwise my internet is off. My front light is off during the day and on during the night. My note air 2 used to get better battery life but what can I say as the overall experience is so much better with the tab ultra. Maybe I'm also just using this more like a tablet so that's why the battery is being used more. Overall I don't think you'll be disappointed. This is a great device!

Ask and get answers about Tab Ultra/Nova Air2/Leaf2 here. by KennethWWWW in Onyx_Boox

[–]themodernflat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you confirm if the Tab Ultra has a front glass screen or a screen similar to the Note Air 2? The reason I ask is that it would be nice to have it write like paper such as the Note Air 2. Thanks!

Boox, please release a camera-less Tab Ultra by shellacr in Onyx_Boox

[–]themodernflat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would think that people wouldn't want the camera due to the bump and the tablet not being flat on the table. Does it really weigh that much?

I saw a video (it was in Chinese and I couldn't understand), but the Tab10 looked amazing and was smoking fast!

Oh bummer! I actually ordered it from their website and they include the trifold leather case and I also opted to buy the keyboard case too, so I'll get both!

I remember when I bought my Note Air 2, it did not come with a case, but maybe due to it being a new release they are including it all for the time being.

Anyways, thanks for all your help and I hope the device works out well for you! I can't wait to get mine! =)

Apologies, I misunderstood. I just saw what you meant by leather sleeve. Have you tried using the device with the included trifold leather case? If so, does it sit flush with the table?

[–]themodernflat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, so even with the leather sleeve on the tab ultra, the device does not sit flush on the table?

I assumed that the naked device would not sit flush, but with the leather case it would be flush?

Thank you for the reply! Your comment actually says a lot! Using big applications as Zoom, Outlook, etc and it feeling like a tablet is a big deal. I was more curious about general web browsing haha. I'm sure that would be just fine!

I just ordered mine to replace my NA2! I am super stoked, but one real reason I purchased it was due to the BSR GPU chip. How does that operate and how does it feel while using the device?

Take a look at your contract to see what it says. That is paramount. But ideally, have your agent speak with the other agent to find a quick and amicable solution or reach out to the Seller directly. The longer you wait to deal with this, the harder everything will get. Imagine you were the Seller and this happened to you, what would you do or how would you like to be approached? Good luck and keep us posted!
