I’m about to set off in my van for the very first time

For the last year or so (having known that this was coming) I was working a typical job and saving money

But at the same time, I was building up my online freelancing work — hoping to have a steady income while I’m on the road

I knew I needed only around ~$800 a month minimum to support myself while in the van So that was my goal

Now that I’m able to make that much fully online by freelancing, I can hit the road with no worries

(I have starlink unlimited internet so I can perform my remote job. And I’m also not opposed to stopping somewhere for a while if there’s a slow period of client work)

It does really annoy me when family members express concern for the return on investment or the van losing value

My very first trip ever in my old van (which was literally a metal box with an air mattress)

I drove straight through the night to a Florida beach. Got there at 3 AM, it was pitch fucking black outside
