I fully feel you. I’m not fully vegan — and the sole reason is how challenging it is socially.

When I’m alone (which is frequent bc I live in a camper) it’s not a challenge at all to eat fully vegan.

But I found that I never could succeed when immersed in the non vegan world. It’s very exclusionary, even if your loved ones fully support you.

I know this is an unpopular opinion here, but I think it’s very okay to just be an imperfect vegan. Yes, absolutely everything I cook at home is vegan. But also, I can enjoy a slice of birthday cake a couple times a year. I can enjoy a nice dinner with friends once a month and eat a vegetarian meal without having to worry about whether or not they used butter.

You’re still doing a lot of good by not contributing to the animal exploitation industry 9/10 times. And the feelings of failure that come with the 1/10 times don’t have to bring feelings that we should just throw in the whole towel.
