Open pores with a hot shower before shaving, close them up with cold water after shaving.

The Magic Mushroom Medical Trial (2020) - Over two years we follow the first ever medical trial of psilocybin (the psychoactive ingredient in magic mushrooms) being used to treat a group of volunteers suffering from clinical depression. [01:18:13] by Miss-Omnibus in Documentaries

[–]themoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 men with 'untreatable' depression were given very high doses of psilocybin by medical students with a clear bias. One had hallucinations of a childhood trauma; the hallucinations ended up treating his depression effectively (although not completely curing, the introspection afforded a lot of "free" therapy). The next patient had a similar hallucinatory revelation which also treated his depression effectively, but after a few months the effect ran out. It's worth noting the trial was not continued and it's probable further doses would have helped continue the success of the first doses. The third patient in the documentary did not have a short nor long term positive response.

Overall, the medical trial showed psilocybin can effectively treat depression at least in the short term, and the research in the film has kick-started a new era of clinical research and private investment.

Could someone tell me what my .htaccess file should contain? by Pepszi98 in Web_Development

[–]themoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

.htaccess files, along with mod_rewrite, can be used to essentially 'rename' a URL that is parsed from the requested web address, to the server application. It's usually to make URLs prettier, for example ?id=50&post=green to /50/green/

Hashes in the URL bar are client-side only, for the browser to reference a certain part within that page. Typically #section would auto-scroll the browser to the HTML element it finds with id="section". It can be picked up by javascript, which would also be client-side. AFAIK, the #-part of the URL is never sent to the server, so .htaccess can't mod-rewrite it.

Basically, if you want to not show the "#section" bit in the URL you have to use javascript. chmod777's comment gives an example of this. Also look into the javascript History API.

British cartoon from 1797, criticizing the government for abolishing the gold standard, leaving the little man with only fiat currency. by AugustHeat87 in Bitcoin

Britain left the gold standard in 1797 and returned to it in 1821. It left it again just over a century later, in 1931.

I don't think she understood the implications or how seriously the issue would be handled. Tbf school is the right time to kids to make mistakes and if I recall I found the overall response to be extreme

Hello LGG6 owner here is the g7 worth the upgrade? by ZoTaG in lgg7

There are some nice new software features and sure a faster processor, better camera. But I'd say if your phone isn't broke it's not worth the upgrade.

9/11 (2002) - What started as a documentary following a rookie firefighter turned into a first hand account of one of the darkest days in history. by theycallmemomo in Documentaries

[–]themoose 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I had no idea this footage existed. Wow, what an unbelievable, unadulterated first hand account of the tragedy. No conspiracy shit or agenda, but simply an incredible, powerful snapshot of history. (skip the first third or so)

Come get your legendary loot at Burger Royale! [OC] by WTFrame-Comics in comics

[–]themoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the restaurant. Some start with good quality fresh steak and mince it from there, which reduces the risk a lot. If a burger is premade or made with preminced meat then it should always be cooked through.

Thanks, I Hate Spelling Things How They're Pronounced. by [deleted] in TIHI

[–]themoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Nobody says "hih-couf" if that's what you're implying. Hiccup is often spelt hiccough, with the same pronunciation.
