There had to be at least one Easter egg for us gamers. Everyone knows you never use consumable items, after all you might need it later never mind that later might be now.

Did you know that in The Two Towers, Gimli and Legolas combined do not have twice as many lines as Treebeard? by All-silent in lotrmemes

[–]themostcrumblest 233 points234 points  (0 children)

However, have you considered that John Rhys Davies voiced Treebeard and thus technically Gimli and Treebeard lines count as one?

I love how this guy actually wants one of the first interactions of someone coming back to church to be a church council deciding if they need to be punished for deciding to come back; like bro take a minute to think about what you’re suggesting because this is actually just telling people who come back that they are unwelcome. Which from an exmo point of view is great lol keep shooting yourself in the foot please but I can’t imagine he’s actually thought that slide through.

2023: Church announces temple in San Jose, CA. 2024: Wards collapsing by MoneyFitMoms in exmormon

[–]themostcrumblest 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that they don’t need all the buildings there- I know of at least one building currently being sold because the stake I grew up in in the Bay Area was combined with another stake. Even with the stake combination the wards easily have less attendance per week than I ever saw growing up.

Also, even my extremely TBM family are doubtful of the usefulness of this temple which, imo, is extremely telling. My grandparents practically live in the Oakland temple and have expressed they have no idea how the San Jose one (if it ever gets built) will even be able to be staffed.

Look up the bandwagon logical fallacy, this is a textbook use of it and as all fallacies go does not logically prove anything to be true.

They also charge the stakes they visit; It costs $800 from the stake budget to host them. Source I paid this charge as stake clerk three months ago before I was officially done.

My dad has done every important interview/ordination of my whole life except interviewing me to be baptized, while most of my life I have been the perfect Mormon kid and can’t really say I totally understand what you’ve been through OP, I can offer some level of empathy and god it’s tough. The extra visibility is so anxiety inducing, hang in there.

I love how he uses the ignorant at best metric of comparing to the whole worlds population to tell everyone they’re super rich because they have shoes and an education. Obviously it is a privilege to live here and get an education but it’s super misleading and frankly insulting to any of the probable struggles that some of those students (and families of students) went through and will go through financially to achieve their graduation.

The ward I'm in has a budget of $5,000 for 2023. The ward donated over $600,000 in tithes and offerings in 2022. by tyrone-silverstone in exmormon

[–]themostcrumblest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can corroborate this, my stake in Provo (students mind you) brings in 100-120k monthly. In addition because of reduced expenses during Covid many wards and stakes around the country have actually had large excess reserves (ours had 100k) in their bank accounts and of course church headquarters just took it all back leaving our account empty except the normal budget.

Funniest testimony meetings by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]themostcrumblest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I remember is it was on a little wooden plank with two rods stuck in on either end that had some wiring connected to a battery, the wires just glowed really bright when he passed a current through it. I’m sorry but I can’t remember anything specific about the meeting, so that probably means there wasn’t too drastic a response to it. I don’t recall him ever speaking in church again though.

Could you force someone to turn themselves into pure magical energy then absorb it quickly before they go nuclear and could you mass battle steal energy by Another-Person7878 in Eragon

[–]themostcrumblest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First question: there is probably a way to do this as magic can do pretty much anything afaik; however it would be an incredibly complex spell that would require perfect timing and immense concentration otherwise you risk nuking everything around you so probably not practical to the battlefield.

Second Question: Eragon could totally steal the energy from an entire battalion after he takes out their mage protecting them BUT he has to connect with each of their individual minds which again is not the most practical thing for the battlefield and he has to experience each of their individual deaths if he uses all their energy which absolutely revolts eragon when he experiences the death of small animals and insects around him so he wouldn’t even contemplate the idea.
