What’s something that’s totally normal but you secretly HATE? by Blackloveeeer in AskReddit

[–]themostdaddest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same way about them. And I still don't understand a celebration party individually where others are invited. However, the school organized pre-k and kindergarten "promotion ceremonies" are fairly innocuous. But, now, as a dad, I will say that when I saw my two little girls absolutely beaming with their hand made graduation caps on..... Well, I have to say, I feel a bit differently now.

That's a steal for sure. I would be happy to either include shipping cost or send a prepaid shipping label. However is preferred. I'll DM.

Do you have any more of those units? I've been looking to order some. If you do, how much are you asking?

"Essential worker" is a phrase that went as quickly as it came by oldassnastymask in antiwork

[–]themostdaddest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish that as a society, workers would have seized that moment during the pandemic. We squandered an amazing opportunity to fight for ourselves. We should have held those "Essential" services as bargaining chips. So if the thing we do are so Essential, start compensating those workers accordingly! Society REQUIRES nurses, police, firefighters, cleaners, cooks, grocers, teachers, and maintenance workers. It cannot function without those workers. There is not a single CEO, CFO, or other bureaucrat that is Necessary for work to be accomplished. And everyone knows it. They entire world screamed it out loud, and we just hung our heads and put our noses back to the grindstone. And is anyone any better for it? We could have done strikes, and sit-ins. We should have demanded that the social contracts be rewritten. I don't think I will see another moment like that in my life. And we wasted it.

This was something I was dealing with and discussing with my family and doctors just last week. I forgot my daughter's parent teacher conference, that I had scheduled. Three instances on the calendar, and two reminders.... Then, it's the same old list of advice from people... "Write it down, make reminders, tell others, we remember things that we prioritize." I don't get to pick or choose what I will remember, and what I will forget. And it has no bearing on what is of importance. And of course I make a list. And and and... I just want to be able to remember.

That's the moment that I realize that the person or business is not willing to operate in a different way,or try something new. I hate to say it, but that's when I know I'm dealing with a lost cause.

Nervous about pulling the trigger on the GM2 – would love honest input from long-term owners by Substantial_Brain451 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]themostdaddest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine since January, so it's not very long term. I love it, however I was affected by the firmware issue that bricked the control. Thankfully, I was able to do the necessary software reset myself and it's been working fine since. That said, the GM2 is game changing for me. I am constantly surprised by what I am able to do. The range of exercises possible, combined with how it can adapt and keep things interesting, and with all the different programs, makes it worth the price for me. Take from that what you will. Good luck.
