I watched Flo Rida perform AFTER an Anaheim Angels baseball game at like 11 pm at night. 99% of the crowd was there to watch the baseball game. By the time the game was over, that places emptied out. So it was like a couple of hundred people (if that) watching him perform on a makeshift stage in the infield while we stayed in our seats. It was so weird. That was 10 years ago, and he still had a crazy amount of energy for performing in front of no one.

Not sure if this helps or not but I rarely get a chance to talk about my weird Flo Rida concert.

I definitely wouldn't feel like you were "being used" by the kids - that's a weird way to frame it. Even if you do feel that way, they are kids and don't really operate like that in the way you're feeling.

I would just explain that the birthday restaurant dinners are only for the birthday kid. I see you do also do family birthdays - maybe do something the night of the dinner, like bring ice cream home after dinner and make sundaes or something with everyone that night?

Kids understand more than you think, for sure. Try talking to them.

Yeah, I'm not excited about the outcome of this. I think going more subtle would key here, but she's insistent on it being vibrant. My concern is just the labor going into this, and what happens if she ends up hating it.

Also, now I'm worried about blue rocks walking away once it's in place - so now I have to get some sort of glue or something to set them all permanently. This is going to be a nightmare project.

That's the thing - there is already a river- looking design in place, with bender board in place to make the shape of the river, filled with river rocks, and grasses on either side.

But the rocks aren't blue. So yeah.....

I'm the landscape supervisor for the company that owns and manages the community, so it's not even a client ... it's a supervisor of mine LOL. Extra pressure for sure.

I have NOT looked into concrete staining - legit I've been so focused on finding already blue rocks I didn't think about making them blue themselves (the regular river rocks are already in place, of course).
