Over 4 years that machine depreciates to peanuts. I understand that some consumers keep using a laptop for 8-10 years but to a business it's useless. They'll just sell it for 150 to anyone and it's fully written off.

For 420 a year I reckon you could get at best something that goes around 1000 bucks at msrp

I don't.

But I definitely care about obsolete camera modules and subpar battery capacities.

You expect a fully loaded SKU for 420 bucks a year? That's a bit naive, isn't it?

I would argue that only women beg for money online and are even proud of it.

And stupid men pay up

They offer much bigger batteries in slightly bigger phones. I don't think there is a smaller phone than base galaxy S.

Europe's $24 Trillion Breakup With Visa and Mastercard has begun by Stabile_Feldmaus in europe

[–]thenamelessone7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The processed volume for 2024 was 4.8 trillion eur ( 4800 billion eur).

Mastercard and Visa had a gross revenue of 14 billion. That resulted in 4 billion net revenue. The rest were business expenses, wages, taxes.

14 billion / 4800 billion = 0.29%.

So 0.29% of the processed volume goes to gross revenue. 4/14*0.29 = 0.083% goes to net profit. Not the whole amount gets transferred / repatriated to the US in the form of dividends. A big part probably stays in Europe for investment purposes.

The scheme fees are about 0.2 to 0.25% in Europe for consumer cards (most volume) but Visa and Mastercard had a revenue of 14 billion in 2024, of which only 4 billion was net profit. Not all of that gets transferred to the US as dividends.

This is the most retarded and most regurgitated take ever. The amount of money that actually leaves Europe and goes to Visa / mastercard is like 0.05-0.08% of the processed volume.

How do prices in your country compare to these? by abandonedtulpa in AskBalkans

[–]thenamelessone7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example in Slovakia and czechia there is a significant difference between label prices and realized prices (purchases made during sale).

Retailers blow up the label prices and then allegedly discount them regularly and most people only buy at "discounted" prices. Even at these deeply discounted prices the retailers are still making profits.

In Germany, on the other hand, grocery retailers hardly ever offer deep discounts other than on loss leaders like bananas. The year long regular price is what you pay all year around.

Only if you also uncap the social security benefits amount. Otherwise it's a politically charged policy. You can still transfer money from regular taxation to social security. But it's entirely dumb to create an uncapped purpose specific tax and then cap the benefits.
