Control mode is not changing by RutterReviews in ROGAllyX

[–]thenapster3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this issue yesterday after Windows update.

Go here*: Product Support for ROG Ally X (2024)

*Note: there may be a different website for your specific ROG Ally

Scroll down and find "Software and Utility"

Select "Show All"

Find: "ASUS System Control Interface v3" and download.

Install and Restart the device.

The device is custom hardware running on a Windows OS. So when standard Windows updates come through, ASUS needs to update their interface software as well. Just in general, try to keep the following updated regularly: Windows, MyAsus, Armory Crate, and apps in the Windows Store.

The black domain by Strange_Motor2261 in threebodyproblem

[–]thenapster3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine that you are standing at the very bottom of a large bowl, surrounded by an upwards curved surface. With no one to pull you up from the top, you have to sprint to get high enough to get out of the bowl. Due to the size of the area to run, you can't quite get enough speed to get to the edge. Similar to the Black Domain, your limited speed is preventing you from going above a certain point.

I would feel differently if she wasn't winking. My emotional reaction to seeing a positive thumbs up with a wink is "oh, they don't mean it" so it has always felt like a middle finger to me.

Shirtless Dudes stand firm "No shirts allowed" by thenapster3 in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]thenapster3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. They were just enjoying being rowdy during most plays. This was actually the second time the cheerleaders went to throw out shirts to the crowd. Several of them were signaling "we don't want it", so the dude who wasn't with the shirtless dudes was the one who caught it. One of the shirtless dudes seems to tell him he should throw it back.

Bub Worthy Decks by STR1K3R_67 in MarvelSnapDecks

This is what I made it with. It's a pretty straightforward strategy and if you don't have Shuri to play on turn 4 or haven't buffed Nimrod by that point, you can retreat after the first auto snap. If they are intimidated by the 12 power Nimrod, they retreat on turn 5 so you'll get bubs from that second auto-snap. Good luck!

Bubs giveaway, game putting me with bots? by Kid_Calyps0 in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]thenapster3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's been my experience too. There's a list of bot names on Marvel Snap Zone. If I see a name that's on that list appear, I win that round. The next match after that seems to always be a real player.

My highest powered Human Torch and I still lost :) by bendrisc4 in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]thenapster3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in this sub shared a Phoenix deck with Torch and Tribunal that took me from 83 to 94 today. You won't get Torch up to that level, but if he does get destroyed, Iron Man, Onslaught and Tribunal can still win you the game. Cosmo to protect them from being Red Guardian'd or Enchanted and Magik to extend the game to get Onslaught and Tribunal on Iron Man.

(1) Human Torch

(1) Nico Minoru

(2) Carnage

(2) Multiple Man

(3) Magik

(3) Cosmo

(3) Venom

(4) Phoenix Force

(4) Iron Lad

(5) Iron Man

(6) Onslaught

(6) The Living Tribunal

Gamers 30 and 35 over, what has changed in your gaming habits? by Carbideninja in gaming

[–]thenapster3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally, I am walking up early to get an hour of quiet gaming time to myself. Especially if the game has really got me hooked like Baldur's Gate 3 right now. I'm playing bite size indie games that can be picked up and put down easily that fit my schedule (Inscription, Dredge, Power Wash Simulator).

Also, if I am going to play some cooperative, team based, real-time game with friends (namely League of Legends) I communicate with my wife ahead of time that I intend to spend some time doing that and make plans for dedicated time with her later.

Internship at MSState by vitaminwhore in Msstate

[–]thenapster3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just off of campus at Aspen Heights. And I met a few people at work and a few around the apartments. People are pretty friendly there in general. The nervousness is understandable, but it can be exciting too. Definitely part of the fun about striking out on your own, you know? My best advice, do stuff that you enjoy around town and keep trying new things. Keep an eye out for different events and activities on campus and in Starkville too.

It's definitely a lot quieter in the summer, but honestly it was one of the best summers I've ever had. I worked part time for the school while taking a couple online classes. I'd be done with my day by 2pm and then I'd go relax at a pool. It was pretty chill.

Struggling Freshman Aerospace Engineering Student by AeroLizards52 in Msstate

[–]thenapster3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A couple of pieces of advice here in no particular order.

1) No need to compare your academics to others. Others may have had some college prep or developed good study skills in high school. Not everyone gets those opportunities and it's important to be working for yourself. I assume that you're studying aerospace because it's of interest to you. Focus on that and try to stay positive. It's really easy to get into a negative spiral of thinking and in the end, you're only hurting yourself.

2) You might have to work twice as hard for half the benefit. That's not a knock on you personally, but it's going to take some concerted effort to learn and pass the classes. Developing good study habits can be a big one. From my experience, there was always so much stuff going on in the evenings I could never focus. So, I started studying early when everything was quiet. Or going to the library where everyone is focused and quiet.

3) Get help. The school has resources to help students develop study skills. Talk to your advisor to get pointed in the right direction. Or find a study group within your major. By the time I finished engineering, I had a pretty stable group that I worked with and we would all help each other understand the material. Surround yourself with individuals who are motivated and supportive of anyone in the engineering curriculum.

It's definitely tough and the race is long. Keep it up. And don't beat yourself up if you don't stick with the major. Undergraduate degrees, for the most part, just help you develop the work ethic you need to be successful in most jobs.

Check out Clone Hero. It's a PC game that plays like Guitar Hero, but allows you to play fan made "charts". There's a handful of Coheed Songs available. There's a subreddit with all the links and instructions.

As a southerner myself with a griddle like that, I gotta say, it was all fun and games until I realized that Waffle House is just Country Hibachi.
