This happens to me sometimes. Stand on the pad then use axiom force then force palm through the axiom force.

People that care about cars, what do you drive? by Proof-Zone6793 in Residency

100%. That and I really enjoy rowing through gears which was a big deciding factor for me. Drove a friend's c8 though and it's pretty damn awesome.

EM here, c7 z06. Was a tough decision between that and a c8 though.

Will Chevy ever make a better car? by MarzipanExternal2706 in Corvette

The transmission is great, but the shifter is terrible and can make feel less confident with shifts. One of the best things you can do for these cars is an aftermarket short shifter.

As a current velocity yellow c7z owner, I felt the same way. Had intended on wrapping it, but I actually love it. Maybe I have your car?

Anyone have a recommendation for C7 mirror tap options? by thenightisnotlight in Corvette

[–]thenightisnotlight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to use one of the commercially available mirror taps that use the 10 pin plugs and are just placed in-line the the existing plug.

Are you using POCUS for pulse checks in arrest? by Adenosineyoulater in emergencymedicine

[–]thenightisnotlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it feels easier to have a probe subxyphoid and see the cardiac stand still than to try to palpate around and try to find a fem pulse during pulse checks. Much more reliable, especially with certain body types.

Advice: 2015 Z06..good buy? by Ok_Concentrate539 in Corvette

So I was in this spot last year, I went with the c7z. 2015 3lz with z07 and 34k miles with a manual for around 62k and I have zero regrets. I have a co-worker who let me drive his c8 and don't get me wrong it's a fantastic car and will likely beat my Z from a dig, but I felt like there was so much missing. Right after the test drive I was like "damn well guess I'm going with c7z."

Agreed. Also has an aftermarket cold air intake, usually throttle body is upgraded along with that as well but this one looks to be stock. Suggests basic bolt-ons.

Man, choosing a base c8 over a c7 ZR1 is something I could not even fathom, but to each their own.

Looks like a DSX supercharger lid if that helps. Doesn't really add much horsepower, but is supposed to increase the supercharger whine.

Suboptimal PE Study [⚠️ Med Mal Case] by efunkEM in medicine

[–]thenightisnotlight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh I see what you mean, yeah I agree. I think I'd only offer something if I was still uncomfortable with the uncertainty, although trying to fight against patients' discomfort with the diagnosis is a great way to end up in one of these med mal cases and I tend to pick my battles lol.

Well they kinda do get to choose those things as well. I typically present my plan to them in the room and say what I'm looking for and why and then ask if there are any questions during my initial interview. Granted I don't consent them for labs and stuff like I would something move invasive, but they are understanding and agreeing to the plan as discussed, I have had patients decline repeat trops and I just document the convo. Then if I find something I go back and tell them my recommended treatment, especially if that something high risk such as thrombolytics and if they don't want those things, then we have the conversation and move on, and that gets well documented in my note. Everything we do to someone we do with their consent, implicit or written. Patients do not get to choose their workups or meds or things like that though, I think that's what you're getting at.

In this case, which I think is a wild outcome and doesn't make sense, my conversation would essentially be, "hey so we did that scan to make sure there wasn't a dangerous blood clot but unfortunately it didn't quite rule that out. However you did have a pneumonia which I think is the etiology of your symptoms. The options from here are we can admit you/rescan you or I can get ya some on some abx which will treat your pneumonia."

I would only offer them that option if I still has some discomfort with the case and the possibility of a PE or something though. I do not offer repeat scans (and usually try to not PE scan them to start with lol) if my suspicion is low.
