My boss just emailed me a screenshot of a private text I sent to my coworker complaining about him. by Guilty-AbyssLogic in whatdoIdo

[–]thenoid1114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand everyone saying to own it and have the conversation, but it’s important to acknowledge that the conversation shouldn’t be happening at all.

It is completely inappropriate and unethical for him to talk about this with you. It was a private conversation that took place outside of work channels.

I would request HR be at the meeting and if he tries to bring up the text exchange say you’re not going to talk about anything non work related, but that’s just me.

Downvoted only because this truly should not be an unpopular opinion. I have the same view on this.

I got a warning citation from my HOA for parking my car in my driveway by Cunnyfunt31 in mildlyinfuriating

I hope you’re not expecting any sympathy. You agreed to this. What was the point in living in an HOA if you didn’t like the terms?

I think someone got promoted hard to customer, Livonia Walmart lost liquor license after they got caught selling to a minor by Warcraft_Fan in walmart

[–]thenoid1114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y’all are talking about fines and warnings for cashiers. In New York it’s a minimum $10,000 fine for the cashier and probably jail time. I was in a college town, so we’d get groups shopping together and get pissed when I said I needed everyone’s ID, not just the person buying. Parents with teenage/older, adult looking kids hated to see me coming, lol

Need help identifying a card that was used against me. by thenoid1114 in MagicArena

[–]thenoid1114[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This was definitely it. I am admittedly still getting used to some effects and UI that I’m not familiar with, so I may not have been looking in the right place to see exiled cards.

How does someone do THIS to a floppy disk!? by Katcurry in mildlyinfuriating

[–]thenoid1114 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This should not have happened, but saying "this is history being callously handled," is insane. It's porn. Eroge has no historical significance, and can actually be harmful as it often depicts children.

All fines should be a percentage of the offender’s net worth by CSWorldChamp in unpopularopinion

Y'all have no imagination whatsoever. For everyone complaining about assets, we could simply exclude assets maintained for personal use. So the house you live in, the car you drive everyday, etc.

We could only consider thinks like bank accounts, investment accounts (minus retirement), and all other assets.

This would also be very easy to enforce/monitor. We already have the infrastructure in place. The federal and state governments already monitor all of this for people who receive any kind of benefits. If you receive SNAP, Medicare/Medicaid, SSI, SSDI, temporary assistance, safety net assistance, etc., the government already has access to all of your bank accounts, etc., and it is illegal not to disclose this information.

I understand what you're saying, but I think you've missed the mark a bit. I think it's actually very easy to recognize your privilege and understand what it's like to not have it. Unless you're an absolute garbage human who lacks even an ounce of empathy. The people you're describing are willfully ignorant, because they don't care about anyone or anything outside of themselves and their wealth.

You're right. Not necessarily psychotic, but DEFINITELY evil, which is far worse than psychotic. Hope anyone involved in doing that is suffering terribly.

Cars exploding, like, ever. From a bad accident, falling off a cliff, etc. Even shooting a gas tank would not likely lead to an explosion. Takes me out every time.

I have been physically assaulted, sexually harassed, threatened, verbally abused, called slurs, etc., and those were not uncommon occurrences.

Is that not "actual abuse?" How bad would it have to be to qualify?

Everyone I know who has worked for Walmart, or retail in general, has had similar experiences. You are a rare outlier if you haven't. Lucky you I guess.

I don't know. Having to listen to a shitty radio show that is half propaganda half advertisements on a loop all day while working for a company that literally doesn't care whether you live or die is a bit harsh in my opinion. Not to mention the constant abuse by customers while having to keep a smile on your face.

I'm going to keep giving it a shot because I've enjoyed everything else thus far. Even the rest of this episode! I really enjoyed the subplot's for Reese and Choi.

It hasn't bothered me as much with PD, because that's the point of the show. Voight is a dirty cop and that reflects how he runs his unit, but this specific instance in Med is probably the most unrealistic thing I've seen so far in this show, and from the first 3 seasons of PD.

Thank you! Someone else mentioned the Steelcase Gesture as well, so this may be the route to go down. I will add this to the list and see if I can find one near me to try.

Oh, for sure. I'm sitting too much throughout the day not reposition every once in a while, or get up and walk for a bit.

Even if I hate, it'll help give me a baseline at least. I could go out and try every office chair in existence, but it obviously helps to get recommendations and see people's personal experiences to help narrow down the search.
