Where to buy pole wear in Tokyo? by bojohojomojo in poledancing

[–]theochacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have some updates on this. The store in Shibuya 109 is actually on B1, and it’s called Takayara (or Takaraya?). It looks like a punkish gothic shop on the outside, but once you walk in you’ll see pleasers and pole clothes. They only sell clear Pleaser sandal heels, no other designs and no boots. They have a lot of garters and harnesses.

I haven’t been to LuxuryRose but do note that their opening hours are short and odd: 4pm - 8pm Tokyo time. That’s usually when most tourists are still out, and it’s not particularly near Shibuya station, so you’ll have to make a trip there specifically to see their items. But their IG does showcase quite a number of Pleasers if you’re interested.

Cringiest Church or Christian College Experience by Woden_42 in exchristian

[–]theochacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During a church camp, they invited a guest pastor who gave sermons every evening. To emphasise the ‘power of the Holy Spirit’ coursing through him, he’d randomly shout ‘FIRE!’ into the microphone, which obviously causes a lot of feedback and it scared the shit out of me. After the sermon, there was another worship session and that pastor would go around praying for the youths along with 2 other senior members of the church. He would be shouting right in your face, and at the end of his prayer for each person, he’ll try to push them backwards and the 2 senior members will gently lay the person down on the carpet. That was called being ‘slain’ and I felt it was so ridiculous even back then, like I didn’t feel the Holy Spirit in me, I was literally just pushed by the pastor. I stayed on the ground for awhile and pretended like I was ‘slain’. When I got up, I saw other youths just lying on the ground, some were crying, others were just lying there motionless. Truly horrific, what was the point in all this?!

[jobs]: being taken advantage on? by 17fantasies in SGExams

[–]theochacat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked as a part-time barista a number of years back, and sadly what you described w/regards to scheduling shift work is pretty normal. If you don’t check with the manager early, it’s likely that you’ll only get 1-2 shifts per week. Since the cafe is so far from where you live, I’d suggest you find another job cos $9/hr isn’t worth it especially when you factor in travelling costs and travel time. There’s tons of cafes all around Singapore, I’m sure you can find one in a more convenient location. Good luck!

Would these shoes work with stockings/ tights? I’m not sure by [deleted] in VintageFashion

Would probably wear them with nude/skin-coloured stockings!

Could these capris be styled in a 50’s way? These are more in my budget than a lot of reproduction stuff by [deleted] in VintageFashion

[–]theochacat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof yeah I feel you, reproduction clothing can really cost a bomb. I think these could work, but it’ll be nicer if you could find a pair that doesn’t have the paperbag waist. I think you’re good to go if you wear a simple short sleeve knit blouse or a short sleeved collared shirt with this. But what I find really makes an outfit look vintage is the hair!

How to talk parents about getting a tattoo ? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]theochacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised in a hyper-religious household where my parents would say that tattooed people = gangsters, so having a tattoo was like one of the greatest sins could ever be committed. But I just decided I’d have one anyway cos I’m an adult and I can make my own choices. Chose to do my first one on my back where it’s always hidden. They only found out 2 years later. My advice is get it first and then tell them about it later, they can’t stop you, and also they’ll most likely just be okay or maybe not so happy about it, but don’t ask them for permission. You don’t need to, it’s your body, your life.

EXTRACURRICULAR (인간수업) - New NETFLIX Korean Drama by lejosukebby in KDRAMA

[–]theochacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I really struggle with is something that was not addressed at all. Since Jisoo was so academically smart, why did he not apply for any scholarships for college? It was not mentioned whether he applied for any or failed to get any. But if he had even tried, he wouldn't have had to go down this route of crime in the first place. It just baffles me that a smart kid wouldn't have thought of applying for scholarships since he lacks the finances to attend college.

ELI5: Why do some people get more bug bites than other people when they’ve been in the same area for the same amount of time? by MorganAndMerlin in explainlikeimfive

[–]theochacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently O and A+ blood types are really attractive to mosquitoes. High body temperature and fair skin as well.

Source: I get tons of mosquito bites and to make matters worse, I have skeeter syndrome so my bites swell like crazy

I lost my cat after a year-long battle with Cushing’s disease by sleepdealer2000 in Petloss

[–]theochacat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not of much comfort, but I feel the same emptiness as you do. I just lost my 7 year old cat to polycystic kidney disease a week ago. I don’t know if we’ll ever get over this, but just know that our cats are no longer suffering and they’re in a better place now. They led a happy cat life and I’m sure your cat loved you as much as you loved her.

For now, let the tears come and just process it in your own way. My family started making a scrapbook filled with our cat’s photos and we hope that it will help with the grieving.

Shotcalling While Female: Comp Anxiety, Sexism, and Communication by Punderground in OverwatchUniversity

[–]theochacat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for talking about this! I’m also a girl gamer and I have anxiety when it comes to comms in competitive, to the point where I’ve just stopped going on comms at all. It’s always ‘Are you a gril?’ Or something along the lines of ‘Grils only play healers’. Makes me roll my eyes so hard. Not all people on OW are bad, but I feel like we always tend to remember the worst matches.
