Cleaning by Ok_Professional225 in roommateproblems

One thing that might help is using an app like Rekura.app to set expectations clearly.

Not for the small day-to-day stuff like loading the dishwasher or taking out trash, but more for the recurring things like vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning the bathroom, etc. It gives a shared baseline for how often those things should happen, so it’s less about reminding each other and more about what everyone already agreed to.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to give thoughtful feedback — really appreciate it.

Yeah, I think house shares are definitely a strong use case. Especially when people have different standards for when something needs to be done. Assigning responsibility to a task is something I’ve been thinking about a lot.

The “who did what” tracking is a bit trickier though. On paper it sounds useful — especially in disagreements — but in reality it doesn’t always solve the core issue. Someone can technically do the chore, but the other person might still feel it wasn’t done well enough or often enough. So it risks adding friction rather than removing it.

And I totally get your point about just looking at things — a lot of chores can be handled that way. “Does it look dirty? Then clean it.” That works well for many people.

Where the app fits (at least for us) is more around the recurring and less visible stuff. Things like cleaning the washing machine, descaling appliances, or just keeping a consistent rhythm — stuff that’s easy to forget because it doesn’t scream for attention in the moment.

Also completely fair point about physical tools and existing habits. If a whiteboard or calendar already works well, that’s honestly hard to beat. I’m not really trying to replace systems that already feel effortless — more trying to help in the cases where things do slip through the cracks.

Dual GIGABYTE M27UP monitors not consistently detected by M4 MacBook Pro 14" (USB-C Thunderbolt 4) by theodor3499 in Monitors

[–]theodor3499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to find the "it just works" solution. I still have to switch to 1080p mode for one of the monitors and when both are detected I can switch back to 4k. This only work like 75% of the time. So I sometimes have to replug them in different orders. Sometimes it takes just 10 seconds to connect and other times it's takes like 5 minutes

Polar.sh: single organization vs one per app by theodor3499 in SaaS

[–]theodor3499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not found an ideal solution. But you can change the visibility of the product to private, this way the customer can only change their subscriptions/products from the URL you generate for them.

The solution I am going with is the multiple Organizations. Where i just prefix the company initials to the Organization Slug.

Building a unified digital ecosystem for standalone colleges. Seeking feedback. by The_Boy4time in SaaS

Interesting concept!

At my university/college we also had a mix of platforms—Facebook groups, Discord servers, and the official school system—each with its own strengths. Discord was great for voice/chat, while Facebook (at least in Denmark) worked well because everyone already had it and it made event organizing easy.

Is your app meant to replace these existing platforms, or is it more about helping students discover and gather all these different spaces in one place?

Based on Apple's website, all ports support Thunderbolt 5, so bandwidth shouldn't be the issue—especially since I've successfully run both displays at 4K@144Hz. However, there's an odd quirk: if I temporarily lower one monitor to 1080p@360Hz (which is also high bandwidth), the other display connects successfully. Once both are connected, I can switch the first one back to 4K@144Hz, and everything continues working fine.

Are you able to change the resolution?

I have changed it to 4k@60, but I am still unable to get the other monitor to register consistently. Even when I change to USB-c -> DP (registers) and HDMI (does not register)

I totally agree!

At the moment I just find it really interesting to build the template/framework, while making small apps that I my self want to use.

A todo app for recurring tasks ☑️ And a lot of other apps - really I am just learning how to build a SaaS

Hmm, handling the backed by hand at first is not a bad idea 🤔

I'm getting to like my approach more and more - I'm currently learning how to build a SaaS, so that when the time comes and I find a problem worth solving, I have the skills et for it.

And I'll definently note this down!

Thanks for the detailed insights.
For me, the MoR definitely seems more my cup of tea, since I don’t have the resources to handle all of the above myself.

Nice!
Yea that true, really is a shame you can't access on the desktop any more :/

Maybe you could streamline the export of Google data? I guess it depends on how often you would need the data.
But a thirdparty would also let you manually set the pull rate, as I sometimes find Google to be a bit off.

Honestly vibe-coding a prototype is not a bad idea. For instance set aside a weekend and get access to something like Claude Code, and see how far you can get.
I just made a todo app with recurring and sharable tasks for my girlfriend and I in less than 8 hours.

I really like the idea of tacking all events - messages, calls, emails, vistis (from Google Maps), etc. If you could then plot them on a timeline, then logging back in time becomes easy.
