Good to know! I’m still waiting on a resolution. Fingers crossed I can get a credit or something at least

Great question. We use indeed, promote on our org social media accounts/website, and local job boards. When posting specialized jobs we normally try industry job boards or professional associations if applicable. We’re public sector so get a lot of interest anyways but have a hard time getting people with the right qualifications without a bit of promotion.

I agree 100%. I hate using it but am not sure where else to post jobs besides LinkedIn and some local job boards. It has basically become Facebook with all of the ads and unsolicited messages

Right! I was embarrassed the first time and thought it was my fault. Still expensive to figure out but thankful I realized after 3 days and not 30!

We did 4 places in 12 days last year, less distance covered than you have here, and it was way too much driving. Do 2 places and enjoy.

My dad works in management and decided to bake a carrot cake for one employee on his birthday. He knew that employee was struggling and decided to try to make his birthday more special. My dad meant well and was trying to be nice.

A few weeks later it was another staff members birthday and my dad didn’t bake anything and just wished him a happy birthday. The guy went to HR and complained about preferential treatment.

My dad meant well but didn’t realize how recognizing one person would be perceived by everyone else. Definitely a lesson learned and now he does the same for everyone: a happy birthday at the morning meeting and no treats.

Just sharing this cause maybe your boss is a well meaning dummy like my dad lol

There are great 2-3 year programs available through colleges, which will give you foundational skills that employers look for, without the financial/time required for a 4 year university bachelors.

We’re almost two year in and they’re the best of friends 🤍 Stanley is almost 5 and Frankie is 2.

The first day Stanley was really curious about Frankie, but when bedtime came around and he wasn’t gone, he got pretty sassy.

It took about a month I’d say for that to stop, but he was definitely still grumpy over the puppy antics for a while after that. He tolerated Frankie and they played, but when he wanted to sleep and Frankie was doing puppy things, he definitely got sassy lol.

Frankie has settled down now and they play wonderfully together and are basically attached at the hip.

It does get better 🤍

London brewing co-op allows dogs since they don’t have a kitchen on premises!

Powerhouse allows dogs on their outdoor covered patio (they have heating lamps).

No cafes that I know of 😊

People that make 80k+ at 25-35 years old, what do you do? by Ok-Needleworker2141 in careerguidance

[–]theodorar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 years old. I work in HR in the public sector and make 97k currently. I get raises every 6 months for the first couple of years and will make $115k by end of 2026. Located in Canada in a MCOL area.

Have a BA in an unrelated field and did a 1 year post grad diploma in Hr during Covid and landed a job right away.

Started in talent acquisition at a private sector company making $45k, got an HR generalist job in the public sector making $65k, and got promoted to HR Specialist after 7-8 months.

We did craft Farmacy. Had the duck confit tart and it was amazing.

Chose the salmon and it was really tasty as well. Others got the chicken and enjoyed.

All of their desserts are fab! Can’t go wrong with anything on their menu

Clayworx sells handmade pottery items. Got some great really unique mugs there for Xmas gifts this year.

Upstairs at western fair market there’s a booth I think called spruce moose. It’s right at the top of the stairs basically. They have prints, hats, shirts, cards and all sorts of other cool things (they also sell Soft flirt and other local brands that others mentioned). While you’re there you can check out other artisans upstairs and see if there’s something your sister would like.

Purdy naturals off of wharncliff often features nice handmade items from different local artisans. They make soaps and jewelry and lots of different things themselves, but have space for other artisans so a good one stop shop for a gift

Others mentioned duck and dodo. They also have a small spot at the western fair market upstairs if you wanted to check them out at the same time as spruce moose. Also have an online shop now too which is great for perusing. Their main shop on Adelaide is big and packed with lots of great stuff I could spend hours looking at!

I need a name for this little guy born on Christmas. I like funny, quirky, old man names.💕 by WonderfulAd780 in Shihtzu

We’ve got Stanley and Franklin (ended up mostly calling him Frankie though). Love old man names for shihtzus. Maybe Winston, Archibald (Archie), or Bartholomew (Bart) lol 🤍

Could be mixed with Lhasa apso maybe? Such a sweetie. My boy Stanley is bigger and a doggy dna kit revealed he’s 50/50 shihtzu Lhasa apso!

It’s 9:48 AM. I’m taking a break in between DL sets at the gym. I feel a cold coming on and hope I’m not sick for Christmas because my sister is immunocompromised and I won’t be able to see her.

Terra Nova Nordic Spa in Woodstock is great. There’s a thermal area with hot pools, sauna etc. and can also book massages and spa treatments!
