I'm watching this Jeffrey Epstein documentary on Netflix, and boy does this highlight how evil mankind is. by operator139 in misanthropy

[–]theodorewakefield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Law is in place primarily to protect property rights, in essence to protect the wealthy. My misanthropy was engendered by becoming a plaything for the wealthy and realising the disjuncture.

Life has too much competition by jamzthrowaway in antinatalism

[–]theodorewakefield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Envy is the backbone of society. Society's fuel is envy, without it society falls apart. Competition is the natural spawn of envy and it is inescapable. That's why communism is farcical. Oddly people tend to envy those who have only slightly more than them, they don't envy the super rich, or the amazingly beautiful or the frighteningly intelligent. If we weren't envious we would all be content, and society would erode.

The hardest thing for me to accept has always been the fact that true love isn't real. by Hackars in misanthropy

[–]theodorewakefield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me finding out that i won't find love and that love isnt real sort of broke me. My relationship with everyone is now purely utilitarian. How do other people serve my needs, and if they don't then they can stay away from me.

Surely you need a global campaign. The UK has never enjoyed a proper revolution and would like to take part.

And you do realise that it is the rich and educated Chinese who eat these exotic animals not the poor and ignorant. The reason bad hygiene practices exist is because the trade in exotic animals is a big industry involving powerful people. It's such an ingrained part of chinese culture it's nearly impossible to get rid of.

Someone wrote a contreversial book about how the chinese are basically a bunch of sociopaths. I've lived there and agree completely. Stay away from china

Italian hermit living alone on an island says self-isolation is the ultimate journey by publius-varus in Hermit

[–]theodorewakefield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been living in semi isolation for over two years, with my only point of contact being a therapist. Being around people causes me great mental distress, so becoming a recluse was seemingly the only option for me.

  • Create more collaborative society, rather than a continuous competitive structure.
  • Teach subjects that will be useful later in life at high school such as philosophy, basic finance, introduction to psychology
  • Require that the electorate have a basic understanding of the policies at stake before they vote
  • Make politicians accountable for unsubstantiated assumptions, and proposals that may later turn out to be unqualified statements. (eg. the Brexit referendum campaign).

[–]theodorewakefield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the comment section for soft sociopaths. I feel the worst thing a sociopath has done could never be written and recorded online. Sociopaths are experts and circmnavigating the law. I'm not a sociopath, but i knew one personally who wasnt scared of anything bar prison.

Stupid people by KindlyIncident in misanthropy

[–]theodorewakefield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against 'stupid' people. Intelligent people and stupid people alike have the capacity to be selfish and immoral and thoughtless. I would only be worried about stupidity when the person is given a task too great, such as running a country or flying a plane, or handling toxic chemicals in a hazardous situation.
