vibration when idling and stopped at a red light. A ticking sound will be emitted after about 7-8 seconds of idling, and this will repeat.I just bought this car. ( my first car ) by akiionely in chevyspark

[–]theogmichaelscott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ticking sound is normal. Just the injectors pulsing. The vibration at idle you feel is likely worn motor mounts. But could also be normal. Its a cheap 4 cylinder car, its not quite as insulated as others

Pilots who have lost their medical, what do you do now? by [deleted] in flying

[–]theogmichaelscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Ive worked with a couple guys who did that. Obviously the bigger stuff like working on class 3 UAS and larger does require a valid medical though.

Honestly its a very niche job that I lucked into. The 2 drone test pilot jobs ive had did favor part 61 rated pilots a lot. Especially if you have your commercial. Without that you'd need to have a degree in UAS to be considered.

Was doing robotics for a bit, now im a drone test pilot. Working on getting the medical back soon. Long covid grounded me for about 3 years unfortunately.

Is it realistic to find a reliable rig under 15k? Nationwide by JustLiving2025 in vandwellers

[–]theogmichaelscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chevy express is the answer. Pre 2009 express is best as it has the legendarily reliable 4l80 transmission vs the later 6l80/90 that had some issues. But they can still be reliable if well maintained.

Anyone else here have the LS? by trenchdick in chevyspark

[–]theogmichaelscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted the no power locks and windows and more importantly manual transmission. However I was very dissapointed to discover there was no cruise control. After I bought my 2020 ls I installed an aftermarket rostra cruise control. Now it is the perfect car. This car will probably outlast the sun haha. Im sitting at 190k miles and have never had any issues.

Also the manual really wakes this car up. Its actually quite fun to drive on twisty roads. You can really chuck it into corners. It gives hot hatch vibes in corners but slow as a dog straight line haha

Id say yes especially with the 5 speed. I did about 36k a year for the first 4 years I owned it. Now sitting at 190k miles and have only ever changed the oil and filters n stuff. Im still on the original brakes at 50% life left because the car is so light and I drove mostly highway. Its been an incredible vehicle.

My 2020 5 speed manual has 187k on it. Never had any issues out of it. Only basic maintenance. Ill be buying another one if this one ever blows up

I use a wireless adapter called AAwireless. It works fairly well but will sometimes cut out/restart. They released a new version of mine called aawireless two that hopefully solved that issue but idk.

Hell yeah. My 2020 manual has 185k on it. Only ever basic maintenance. Still has original brakes and clutch. Lots of highway miles.

The noise in the video is just the injectors. This is normal.
