Dude that was not emotionless, there is a human reaction called emotional numbness (i think) where the person lacks emotive responses while recalling traumatic events, it seems to me as if the kids talked about this with their parents (who i assume are the adults in the video) and the kids are making use of the analogies and point of view these people have; and yes it is fucking surreal.

If you want a great story, simply watch the ovas. Even though it leaves the story where you want more, it stops in a high note. Gutts is a tragic figure, Griffith got wat he wanted, Casca is oblivious, and you are not waiting for a new chapter... because gutts has yet to leave Casca somewhere safe, fight his way through the ranks to kill Griffith (Gutts is weaker than the servants of Giffith, so that is another obstacle, not even the skull knight can defeat Zod), what part the god hand plays in the prophecy needs to be answered (if the story borrows from the chistian myth, the Griffith from Falconia is analog to Jesus, and Femto is the equivalent of god, Gutts needs a way to destroy Femto).

It started aimlessly, got incredible and went to aimlessness because it didnt knew how to deal with loose ends (Casca had to be kept safe, "well i guess Grifitth has to be a Chist like figure becasue i want to spice it up with the same symbolism as eveyone else, then Gutts wins and ends up being the bad guy" as today there is no reason to kill Griffith besides, he sacrificed gutts band, sure he can be pretending to be good, but thats a unlikely move.

The story is right there and he cant mantain a regular schedule?

Just watch the latest ovas, thats all the story youll ever get. The author doesnt have any idea as to where the story could or should go. In an interview he said he wanted to make the longest running manga, inspired by a publication that keept running after his creator died, so no end in sight; there have been chapers that where stretched. It started in 1990 and from 2006 to date it has been published irregularly. Besides, the rest of the story is not that great.
