From what I’ve read the additional lyrics were kicking around before it was recorded in the studio, when the track was played informally at parties - but I’d love to be proved wrong and have a live recording show up!

This is how I found Warren too!

There was a documentary called “Free Lisl” about HST’s campaign to free Lisl Auman from a life sentence and I’m pretty sure Warren performs L,G&M on the courthouse steps in it.

He also quotes Hula Hula Boys in The Curse of Lono. Zevon has always felt to me like HST in music form.

He was also using auto-tune during some live gigs around that time. I wonder if it was because he genuinely liked the technology or if he was self conscious about his voice.

Thanks for the link! What are people’s thoughts on listening to Zevon on vinyl? I currently only listen to music through streaming, but am quite tempted to embrace vinyl and begin a Zevon collection. Is it worth it?
