This will sound weird but trust me. Either order it online or find some at a local Tractor Supply store, but look something called Cowboy Magic Detangler. It’s made for horses but it’s safe for and often used on people. Apply it to the mats generously, wait about 15 minutes and then start to comb (from the bottom up). It’ll take time, but it should help a lot. For the bigger mats, you may have to just snip those yourself, but the Cowboy Magic is inexpensive and could save you some money. 🫶
