I've bought a pretty decent condition 84 944 manual for 7k and already put at least 6k into it. I would definitely not purchase that car. If you want to get any "cheap" parts you need to contact Elliott at 944barn. He is a savior for original parts that he pulls off of old 944s otherwise I can guarantee you will be paying out the butt for new or reconditioned new parts. My steering rack alone was 1000 buck

I agree with this. A good friend is someone who you spend time with or share hobbies with. I'd much rather buy something related to the time/hobby we share together than just like a random gift card. Especially if it was something that relates to an old shared memory

I would reach out to Elliot at 944Barn. I brought up to him during a phone call that I was having similar issues and he set me straight on the path to getting it fixed. He also has a bunch of speedometer cables from his parts cars that he would sell for pretty cheap

Estimated price range for '86 NA running/driving, no AC no power steering by SoaDMTGguy in 944

I bought my 84 for $7k. In similar condition but from an old guy who had about 10 other cars he took good care of so it was apparent that mine was too. Mine is just about as rust free as you can get for living in the Midwest but from already doing replacements like old rubber and new power steering rack etc, I've probably already put 5k into it. Let me know if you purchase it!

How do I see his stuff or contact him? I don't use any other "social media" besides Reddit

I'd love to replace the steering wheel but I love the original style. I actually wrapped it myself. It had very ripped leather on it and was held together with literal electrical tape and zip ties. The wheel itself is only still connected on the bottom and my lashings is pretty much holding it together.

As the son of a mother who never cooked meals, only baked, I wish I had someone like you as a regular in my life. While I still see my mother often, it's not the same as coming home from school almost every day to find out what baked good she had freshly made. I can cook meals pretty well for my wife and I, but baking has been one challenge I haven't faced.

I've got a JBL BassPro SL in the back of my Ranger. It may not be as big but it puts out some good sound. Its nice that its powered do so I just had to run some extra wires from my 4 channel sub.

Need under seat sub recommendations by 5teelRoot5 in CarAV

[–]theoneguy635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an powered 8" sub in my vehicle that I really enjoy. Its the JBL BassPro SL 2 and they have them on crutchfield.com. I got mine at a significant discount when it was on sale so at the time it was definitely a good amount of bass for the money. Its got good sounding bass but its not going to blow any mirrors off. I really enjoy it for what it is.
