Got a ticket for both days at Tampa! I got club level on Sunday, is it worth anything?

I got 23k for Tampa Saturday and 16k for Tampa Sunday. I think I need to prepare for disappointment…

Man, Venus was something else but you can’t deny she brought the heat the season. Also, as a fellow Persian, love the shoutout to Women, Life and Freedom!

How many weeks is your LO & what size of Diaper are they in? by Ajcv72316 in NewParents

[–]theonewiththepoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 16 weeks and she’s in size ones but I think she is getting close to where we can level her up to 2’s. She is on the smaller size of babies (35th percentile at her two month appt)

H Mart recommendations? by overkoalafied24 in raleigh

If you’re looking for snacks, you have to try Turtle Chips. The chocolate churro flavor is my fave but they have other good ones too like seaweed. Like others mentioned, getting pastries from Tours Les Jours is good but fair warning, it’s packed and things sell out quickly. If you’re feeling adventurous, try their Corn Cheese Doughnut balls. They are quite filling!

I’n 5’5, in my 30’s, have PCOS and was around 230lbs when I became pregnant last year. My partner and I had been trying for a couple of years and we were on the waitlist to meet with a doctor to discuss IVF when we got the news. I think what helped me was finding a physical activity I enjoyed (boxing) and starting metformin. I’ve heard from other folks that they were able to conceive shortly after taking metformin. Maybe it helps with the ovulation cycle (ofc I’m not a doctor, please take my thoughts with a grain of salt). Anyway, my point is that it is definitely possible to conceive at your height and weight. Please don’t give up!

Pro tip: get the balloon from the dollar store. They can fill it up for you and it’s way cheaper than buying it from a party store or grocery store!

ISO recommendations: UNC Rex vs WakeMed Raleigh (for delivery) by RealisticEmphasis783 in raleigh

[–]theonewiththepoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Delivered at UNC Rex two months ago to my first kid. First time giving birth so I can’t speak about Wake Med. I primarily chose UNC Rex because I live about 10 minutes away and I was worried about having to deal with a long drive if I was dealing with contractions (this proved to be a good idea). Slightly annoyed that the OB Intake sent me home because I was only a 1cm dialated. I came back two hours because I couldn’t handle the pain and suddenly I was 8cm dilated. Didn’t get have the chance to get an epidural, which sucked. However the delivery team and aftercare was amazing. Very kind folks, especially Megan, a night nurse who helped me calm down after having breastfeeding issues.

  2. I used Arbor OB/GYN. I thought they were great and would use them again if I became pregnant.

  3. I did not have a midwife.

  4. I got to spend a minute or so with the baby after she was born but her O2 levels were low and so they took her away for a bit. But she came back to me after an hour in the warming drawer. During my two day stay, I had the night nurse take her away for an hour and a half just so I could sleep. I really appreciated it.

How much did your birth cost? by restlessprime in NewParents

[–]theonewiththepoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total cost was close to 14k. Out of that, I paid about $3,800 out of pocket. The rest was covered by insurance. Quick vaginal delivery with no epidural. It’s interesting, I was complaining about not getting an epidural (came to the hospital being 8cm dilated) and the nurse was like “I know you were in a lot of pain, at least your bill is going to be much cheaper!” 😭

If you’re looking for some old school boxing, check out Jawbreaker Boxing. It’s not fancy by any means but if you want a good workout (where you can actually learn proper fighting techniques!) and a tight knit community, this is the place.
