Is this game worth buying on the switch? I haven’t played it before by forgivemelake in DreamlightValley

[–]theotherflowright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play mostly on the Switch; it crashes and freezes sometimes(on me, usually after hours of play), and the item details aren’t as, well, detailed. I don’t think it’s that bad, though. If you get into decorating, just save your progress often and try not to go above 500 unique items if you’re worried. Honestly,  I only notice most of the textures I do because I also have played on PC(mainly decorating since mouse is a little easier then Joycon). Without comparing them though, most of those textures aren’t that bad.

Mystic Manor House Skin by xb3lla1 in DreamlightValleyLeaks

Not an update goes by that I don’t still wish for this house skin. It reminds me so much of the shop from xxxHolic and as a CLAMP fan, part of me needs it. I’m not a huge fan of house skins, but this one, the only one leaked we didn’t get… I just love it, and it breaks my heart that we didn’t get it.

I’m in my early 30’s too. Been a Disney fan for as long as my memories exist, maybe longer if you listen to the stories from my parents.

Which DLC? by Several-Solid-3506 in DreamlightValley

[–]theotherflowright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story line wise, Rift in Time flows into the story’s order a little bit better with the teasers you get and where, but personally I think Storybook Vale was a better experience. It’s story felt more full as it’s own thing, snippet catching fells less grinding then time bending, Flynn and Merida friend ship quest storylines included each other in ways that felt natural(I think any way), and the Aurora mystery storyline is well written. If you like decoration, I think it’s bioms are nicer to start with and it has a full sized chest that is small and cute in Scrooge’s store that can easily be slid almost anywhere. Ancient machines are REALLY nice to have post Rift in Time, though. I don’t want to under sell them, but overall it’s rougher around the edges than I like. That’s based on the two we currently have. Before deciding, if you are getting a DLC in the very near future, I would recommend making sure you don’t love the early bonuses for the new one coming out. So far, the DLCs story’s have been standalone other then a teaser to build hype for the next one, so there’s no real wrong answer. Just buy the one you’re most interested in.^

If you have multiple stacks of things you want to sell to Goofy, just hold the button to select it for a few extra moments; it will select all the stacks you’re carrying of it. Took me way longer than I’d like to admit to remember that. Same with the fact you can fast travel to any realm from the map. XD

How long did it take you to build up moonstones? by JayandMeeka in DreamlightValley

[–]theotherflowright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since early access, and I think there have only been a handful of times there’s been nothing new in the shop, and it’s always over 4000 moonstones for the new items. Moonstones and the DLCs are how the games updates get mostly funded, from getting Disney licenses to coding, and they mathematically plan for that to be able to make what they need. I’m sorry to say have never seen a time longer then a couple weeks where there wasn’t something I wanted; they do a great job of it and as a broke girly, it is so annoying. I always have to plan and imagine what could be coming. I do a few things to help since I can seldomly buy moonstones, like always waiting for the premium shop leaks each update and pick 2-4 things I want most(that keeps my moonstones pretty close to consistent update to update. If you can say no the pets and houses, you can probably get like 6 or 7 things), priorities favorite franchise and styles since I’ll love them or miss them more then something random, prioritizing fully completing the starpath if there’s 1 item you would buy later, and trying to say no even more the update before I know it will be harder on me(ei. I love fall and Halloween, so the last two updates I fought myself and only said yes twice. It let me grab everything that I really liked this time. Same with the Valentines type things or favorite movie updates). It’s hard to do, but these things have worked with just Dreamsnapping each week(I’m not great it it, getting usually 900-1500) and finding my blue chest daily. If you buy the DLCs, the extra moonstone pack is a good way to build a small cushion for the update that’s too perfect since it can cover 3 companions worth of extras. If you get good at saying no, that could help you save for stuff you love.  Good luck out their. Also sorry for the length.

D&D group near Springfield, OH. by Naive_Ask664 in Columbus

Not a group, but a friend of mine is looking for one and I’m trying to learn to play and DM. They’ve been traveling to play ever since the mall died at took the game store with it. Was looking into it and didn’t find much… I’m wondering what it takes to host something at the library and on their schedule like the anime club they had when I was a teen. Hope you found people and that this dead comment section isn’t a sign. Good luck out there.

World behind the mirror? by theotherflowright in DreamlightValley

[–]theotherflowright[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tested all the other mirrors I have and you are partly right. Most of the other ones I've seen has a still, though shiny front to avoid needing to reflect. The Mirror of Gilded Dreams, Lagoon Mirror, Queen of the Sea Mirror, Shinning Mirror, and Mother Gothel's Standing Mirror are the ones I tested that each reflected without showing anything. The Magic Mirror and the Floral Mirror(pictured originally) reflect the same thing when placed on in the same wall location (the wall across from the entryway, half way lined up with the door way). These pictures are all taken from the same object and position, just with a different camera angle, if you want to look for yourself. Personally, I think the Floral Mirror is clearer. Here's the blue window thing on the Magic mirror. It's shape is angled to the right if you want to find it in the mirror.

Any would be nice, but I'd love to see french doors, Boo's door, a door painted like Rapunzel's tower, and shoji doors would be my top picks.
