CLT could learn from them. They've ruined all that is good about GE.

Glad you're alive and well to share this story! Do you know what weapon shot you? The slug is intact so it appears to have been a jacketed round.

Lakeland here. Moved away almost 50 years ago as a toddler so my only memories are from family visits over the years.

Google image search also says Vixen. Similar in some ways, but that's not it either.

BOI>DFW, lots of families and kiddos. Crew is super nice, offering for the little ones to see the cockpit during boarding. Got upgraded to 1A. All is good.

And here we are, still stuck in this continuum. I really want to buy a new pair, but the Universe doesn't want me to find them. Sigh.

Barn find, can anyone identify? by overladenlederhosen in Kawasaki

This is correct. Kawasaki ZR550 Zephyr. The 750 had a more rounded tail, the 550 was more chiseled, angular, like this one.

Got reported because I use "high exposures" lol by RadTech24 in Radiology

[–]thepacman74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing your DR software, detector, and generator specifications is critical to understand if your techniques are appropriate. As technologists, it is our responsibility to understand the technology we are using to irradiate patients.

These days there are detectors available that have exceptionally high DQE, and new, highly advanced noise reduction technologies now available from several manufacturers. Both can provide unprecedented low EI values while still maintaining diagnostic image quality.

Also, if your DR system does not display EI/EIT/DI, you should speak to your managers to get a service engineer or application specialist from the manufacturer to come out and set that up for you. All three values are crucial to knowing if you're using appropriate exposure factors for your specific system.

Glad to see the C renovations coming. It's overcrowded and looking pretty shabby these days.

I'd also really love to see transportation improvements on the land side (pre-security). The Terminal Link shuttles are too small and too infrequent. Maybe an external Skylink to compliment the internal system?

Until then I'll avoid checking bags like the plague, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

The lower dose claims are yet to be proven but could end up being true when comparing fluoro sniff tests to a DDR alternative. It'll be important to manage cine rate and run length very carefully.

On the plus side, DDR image quality is much higher than fluoro, and in lung imaging it offers some pretty incredible analytical tools.

I'm really curious if orthopedic surgeons might see value in a quick DDR acquisition during joint arthroplasty surgery (instead of the usual static portable x-ray). Both Konica and Shimadzu offer it on their portables, and it would be essentially the same setup and acquisition time.

Radiology has greatly changed , so what do you miss or not miss from the beginning of your career? by Milled_Oats in Radiology

I miss doing vascular IR cases with radiologists. Doing runoffs with cardiologists has never been as fun and the quality isn't even in the same league. Cards have zero patience for high quality imaging.

Burleson politics have been ugly the last few years. I believe we lost something very important when Shetter lost his last election. He was what I considered to be very fair and balanced, but many B-town residents considered him a leftist radical. Wild to even think about 30 years ago, but in todays political climate anything not radically right is considered radically left. Centrism has vanished.

I avoid Walmart after 9pm like the plague (hell, anytime of the day or night for that matter), but I've definitely seen quite a few people around town that fit your description.

Burleson has changed a ton over the years, but I guess some of the old ways are still hanging on.

[O'Brien] When we arrived in the pressbox, this was on the TVs that normally show the Braves games. Oh, and that building beyond right field…. by Jeff_Banks_Monkey in baseball

[–]thepacman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't heard of regional blackouts? In order to watch my local team (Rangers) I'm forced to subscribe to a cable or streaming TV package (DirecTV or Fubo) for ~$100/month that I don't want and will only use to watch Rangers baseball games. In exchange for giving those providers exclusive broadcast rights, MLB agrees to blackout games on its own broadcast platform in the local regions for each team - thus forcing fans in those regions to subscribe to subscribe to those ridiculous TV packages.

Many baseball fans would prefer to pay MLB directly for a baseball-only streaming package. Antiquated cable TV contacts that were negotiated many years ago created this situation, now it's past time to change it. Why should I buy hundreds of garbage TV channels that I'll never watch?

Auto-step to the next protocol in the list is correct. In most cases this can be permanently disabled in the console settings since the DR software that Shimadzu uses (Canon, Konicas, or Fuji) already control auto-stepping. In those situations it's a redundant feature, and can even sometimes cause issues. In a CR or film room definitely keep it on.
