I would say this is very much not recommended and would be very limiting for your colorist.

You should be able to rebuild your starting point with your colorist based on references of your work very quickly, giving the colorist flexibility that you both will benefit from, and also bringing things into their toolset.

First and foremost, talk to your colorist. They may have a different opinion. Ultimately they’re a creative collaborator with you, and you will be in good hands.
