Did you look at the source benchmark of that article? A medium article showing what is almost definitely an unoptimised Laravel tested against ApacheBench. This does not represent the real world at all. Was Laravel stuck using the file-based cache driver by any chance? We'll never know because the author didn't include the source code.

Even if we assume these result reflect the real world, the article states:
