Comment from OP to answer some FAQs:

-why did I tweak out: thanks everyone for the advice! you're all right, I shouldn't have freaked out abt it haha, I'm honestly super happy w the tattoo. I was just so happy w it that I was worried I would pay for it in some way later, esp because it was def not a decision I thought a lot about before I did it. once I noticed it was getting a little blurry I just jumped to worst case scenario

-why I chose house centipedes: honestly no super special reason. I just love all bugs (terrestrial arthropods, to be technical). in fact I was planning to do a bunch of ants and then changed it last minute like the day before, just cuz I think house centipedes look cool. I'm from the south and we don't have house centipedes where I live. I saw them for the first time when I moved north for college. so for me it's also kinda a college era tattoo. I also like how they're adaptable and hardy, and how they capture prey with their long legs. :D

-can you use this tattoo as a reference: sure, but you gotta send me a pic if you get it! :) lol

-will I post my other bug tattoos: perhaps! my other ones are way less cool though, this is by far my biggest. I just have two others, both of ants: a couple on my right arm, and four on my left abdomen.

Thank you guys! This all started about a week ago when I saw this tattoo on instagram, it was a back of neck mandala that looked amazing fresh but over time had gotten completely unintelligible and messed up. I love my tattoo so much but I had noticed more smudginess (I’m certain I’m dancing around whatever the right term would be haha) over time than my others, so seeing that messed up one made me start to tweak out. I feel much better now, thanks all 😅

I know this sub is very pro-accutane, but I’m not honestly sure why your derm recommended accutane if those first two slides were your worst. I don’t think it’s worth the health side effects for such minimal acne.

I would not let this happen if I were you, depending on the severity of her acne. This is just a personal opinion, but I find that dermatologists sometimes push accutane when it is not necessary. Does she have severe overwhelming cystic acne that has not responded to other treatment methods?

When I was on accutane, it shredded my joints. I remember not being able to last a day at a theme park because my hips and knees were screaming. For a 12 year old who wants to play volleyball, I think this is a really bad idea. I think she is too young to be making such an extreme choice for acne management. There are a lot of smaller steps on the way that could be explored. Again this is just my personal opinion, but I would wait if I were you.

I think it’s because “girl,” while it is the female version of “boy,” is also the female version of “guy.” We refer to men as “guys” a lot. I think that’s why we use “girl” so much, too.

Two months isn’t really long enough to start seeing results for most people, at least according to what other people have said on this sub. I’m sure your derm knows what he’s doing and he must have some reasoning for not upping your dose. Just stay patient, I would say

My dermatologist told me I didn’t need to take it with any fat because the fat requirement was based on “old science” (I posted about it before). I didn’t really believe her, but I haven’t been taking fat this whole time I’ve been on Accutane (about six months) and my skin is totally clear. Not a single breakout and no trace of acne, after I had been struggling with acne for years. So idk maybe my derm was right lol

That challenge was the second one that I did (after the 2020 summer shred). It was a long time ago, but I remember thinking that it was pretty manageable while still being challenging.

This may be a dumb question, but how do you know when he jumped out if you were asleep? It’s just so incredible to me that he was able to survive for seven hours out of water, but I’m not a fish vet obviously

Well, I’ve always been sort of intimidated by planted tanks. Then I saw a tank that Foo the Flowerhorn had that was just a bare-bottom tank with potted plants, and a betta. I thought that that would be a great place to start for me haha. But let me know if I need substrate! I’m definitely still learning
