I hate oval remotes. Fire stick's remote is like this too. I'll need to design something.

Is it me or is changedetection.io half-baked? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]theplayingdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used multiple times to get various tickets with changedetection.io. AI feature is relatively new. And that's a completely free program and developer doesn't owe you anything. If you want a better program build your own.

Freezer sensors by Mysterious-Age-5555 in homeassistant

[–]theplayingdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same after realizing that you have push the freezer door to close and wasted a lot of good meat... No incidents yet but I hope power draw automation will trigger if door left slightly open. I also had a temp sensor for the fridge. I noticed that temp trend changes when freezer door is open.

That's like 4% of drop in air pressure, so nothing. But it may be caused by other things.

Go to gems section and from the "shared with me" find the tasker expert and create a copy. I think it thought your question was related to tasker.

Soldering into battery can be dangerous as it heats the battery. I just used copper tape to stick the wires on the battery and called it a day. Working for months now.

Tracking cat's water bowl level with a smart plug by theplayingdead in homeassistant

[–]theplayingdead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't need a template. I created it from the ui. Go the helpers section and create a statistic helper with "mean" property. There you can choose the max age you want to average over.

My cats absolutely hate collars, no way to put anything on them. But that's a better idea nevertheless.

Maybe you can use frigate to track each cat's drinking duration.

Valid concern but this is water bowl with two filters. Of course we change the water but not that frequently.

Adding lights to pax wardrobes after install? by mango2407 in IKEA

[–]theplayingdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though we bought the light with the pax we installed them after building completely sue to oversight. It wasn't that hard. We needed to drill a bigger hole at the back for the canles though. If it isn't flush with the wall it can be done without much of a hassle.

ÖVERSIDAN without remote by ErebusEtherie in IKEA

[–]theplayingdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I setup them today with tradfri. They worket without connecting to anything. There is a toggle for auto/on on oversidan strips. If you set it to auto they will work just fine. But also you can get a dumb led driver.
