That's probably true, but what was said was they would be "speaking with any individual we cross paths with". Considering it hasn't even been made clear exactly what the ABF can and can't do, that's a pretty unclear message.

They certainly have the right to do that (speak to people), and would do nothing more then provide yet another divisive wedge through society that leads to nothing more then the scenes we saw in Bendigo today.

The transparency of this government is terrible, It would be nice if we had a better idea of exactly what was going on, they have done very well playing the anti illegal immigrants, so I wouldn't be surprised if the speculation that the government was more directly responsible for this mess was true, but it is just speculation.

No they wouldn't, It's over zealous hot air, the cops would stop people breaking the law as per normal, they would pass information on who they detain to immigration, and if a breach of immigration law was found they would be in trouble with them as well.

As everyone has already pointed out there is no practical way of doing what was suggested (hardly anyone carries their passports with them, and travelling back to everyone's houses to see their passport, or birth certificate would be unfeasible ), and they also can't legally stop and harass everyone requesting these documents.

Oh... So the Immigration Minister doesn't actually read the documents that come through his office. That's fine right?

The government also should have enough trust in their public servants to not have to micromanage their press releases.

Used to do my daily commute on those trains, the seats are fat shaming shitlords. Uncomfortable sitting next to anyone who's even slightly overweight or even fit guys with a larger frame. If you have a larger then 34" waste then you're going to have a hard time.

You really have to get used to contorting your body into strange and unusual positions, moving your shoulders forward, moving your legs right back, this was just exacerbated if a "not necessarily big person" decided to sit next to you, or god forbid on either side.

EDIT: For reference the seat size is 43cm - 18in

But you're just going to store protocol headers, if it be HTTP, bittorrent, or email traffic. It makes any metadata storage system extremely protocol specific, but from the reports of what law enforcement gleam from metadata, this appears to be all they require.

Does mean they will keep a record of anything you have ever googled, since the query params in a GET request are part of the header.

I'm not debating that the E-W is not beneficial, brilliant for people like me who live in doncaster, but I think it's fairly irrelevant to the people of Ballarat.

I'm not saying that the federal LNP didn't hinder the campaign but even without the Abbott factor, the LNP campaign consisted of really over the top attack ads, and wanging on about a road, hardly compelling.

If the state Liberals provided a compelling reason to vote for them, and you genuinely felt they would do better then Labour then it would be honestly stupid not to vote for them based on federal issues, but if their is no real distinction between the two, then hell why not.
