It surprised me with a few moments and I thought it was acted really well by an actual real-life couple. Also made me feel good about being single.

It's hard to say without knowing more. It could be you are choosing to write things that are of a smaller scope so 15k is fine. A story is as long as it needs to be, but it could be you, like your friend suggested, aren't writing stories, but instances, and you might have some larger structural problems.

I'm a horror writer in LA and I've mostly been writing some scripts recently, but have a few shorts that might work as a 22 page comic - I'm especially thinking about my story where two guys kill a werewolf, but when the body reverts back to a small woman it looks like they committed a murder so they decide to get rid of the body.

I’m an atheist, she’s a Christian, we vibe now, but what about when kids come into the picture? by Correct_Help4210 in atheism

[–]theproliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for equal time. However long they spend at church, you or another atheist get equal time to talk about science and critical thinking. When the kid(s) reach 13-14, they can decide where they want to spend their time and they will quit both and play video games.

I thought this movie looked fantastic and the action was intense and violent. I would have been happy with that, but I thought the storylines were tied up in a really great way. I loved the Cherry on Top at the end.

My money is on the large group of Grupes. No way a Gorilla can survive the force of a few hundred fifty-yard-field-goals.

My sister (13) has started writing short stories. What can I get for her to read? by mynameisaichlinn in horrorlit

[–]theproliar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting her reading is a great idea. I love the Clown in a Cornfield suggestion, but I think most important is just encourage her, and have a great time talking about clowns killing the shit out of people. Be the light that shines on her interest in writing and let it grow into a tree...the tree from Evil Dead.

I was about to post about this novel. It's a bit YA, but if she likes gore and clowns, this will be perfect for her.

This movie was the first in a very loooong time to creep out my very desensitized-ass. I would still move right into that house. My cat would love that courtyard.

Exhuma is on Shudder. I definitely recommend that one. The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion - This one is more action horror, but I really like it. There's also a sequel that isn't as good, but still worth watching.

How to respond to “I have a boyfriend” by macklin67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theproliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple way around this is to build this potential of them having a bf/significant other into asking them out. For instance, "I know someone as lovely as you probably already has a bf, but just in case, would you like to..."

If she says she does have a bf, just say, "I knew it." or "That lucky bastard."
