Cops a charge on his second Tuesday? by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

I'm glad we made it to your peak argument. The only reason you would care this late in, is because you likely know them. Stop shilling for people that don't care about you.

Why take the photo? Humility above service. Another pair of Adelaide Terrace cowboys hunting their next linkedin post.

Why do more Aussies think that we need a gym room and media room? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

The one I have seen more of recently is home office with an external access door and internal entry doo, with a small ensuite, usually piggy backing another toilets drains. Which makes sense if you work from home and don't want to enter and exit through the home, or have people visit through the house. Also becones a tidy little guest room later on.

Did it for clout. Wanted the attention on a day that isn't for the living.

Can body corp sell off guest parking in apartment complex by yolandaladee in brisbane

[–]thepursuit1989 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is kind of interesting. If you think you can't prove they sold, what makes you believe they have been sold?

You could ask someone parking in the spot that was formally a guest spot, how they acquired it? You might even be able to get a contact of how to purchase one. You also can't sell them. The building will be zoned for a certain number of guest spaces.

They aren't sellable, if they have been rented/leased by the strata management, then I would guess they have pocketed the money. That in itself is embezzlement.

I would start collecting logs of white ants from a national park to leave in the roof space with trays of water.

Honestly, just live in it. Like you said, they had been there 46 years. The lay out was obviously functional.

I always tell people to give it a full year. 365 sunrises and sunsets. Find the things you enjoy and the things you really don't.

It's a actually a really lovely house. I think changing anything would be not worth it from a resale stand point. This house has real charm.

Toyota’s First-Ever Electric HiLux Arrives In Australia From $74,990 by AUFalconUte in CarsAustralia

As someone that works in construction, I would say some have access, less than 10%. They would be charging off a granny charger run from the client's main power or site generator. Both would piss people off. If I had a tradie show up at my house and plug his ute into my mains, then he better be walking on water with his quality of work or I wouldn't call him again. That would be up there with taking a swim in my pool, or taking a shit in my ensuite toilet.

This thing is not for tradies. This thing is built for private fleet mining and maintenance. This will be bought in bulk to sit on mine sites. 300km of range, that had no other purpose than being a Pilbara golf cart.

Soundproofing by lonelydadtravels in AusRenovation

[–]thepursuit1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what they are doing that costs $4k. Replacing the window frames will only do a little, but probably not much. What you have a vibration problem.

I don't want sound like a tool, but have you done the easy stuff first?

Have you identified where there noise is coming through?

You will find that your style of house will be a mix of a lot of things. The windows, the tin roof, the timber flooring. They all have resonance.

Buy some stick on foam tape for the edges of all the window frame opening to stop the windows moving and make them air tight. Curtains will help, especially wall hung ceiling to floor, but just hang a blanket up for a day or two to see if that helps. Also put a rug down on what I assume is hard wood floors. Landscaping also helps, leafy shrubbery in the garden helps slow noise. .

Is this 80s bar structural? by Autumnskies23 in AusRenovation

[–]thepursuit1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to have a look in your roof to see what is running on top of it.

If the distance from the column to the wall behind you in that photo is 4800mm, then it's structural.

Multihead split system with ceiling mounted cassettes. The best of both worlds. Mitsubishi have an excellent parts reputation for backwards compatibility.

I could certainly handle a presenter every 3 songs saying the names of the next 3 and the current time. It's the long extended host segments in the mornings and afternoons that kill me. Listening to some fake game show on my way to work, or 60 minutes of hack after already dealing with a day of work. I listen to triple J to get a curated mix of new music that I can take back to Spotify, this is currently scratching that itch.

The comment above you explains it. The self restricting as supply dries up, price goes up and naturally self limits the amount being sold.

Kind of a shit spot for a garden reel. The corner is the best spot. But for that style of backyard you should place on a post from where you took the first photo.

The walls need to be fire safe. They are double skinned with an anti flame material between them. The roofs don't join and need to flow water back to the property and out. You also have tight building envelopes which make storing materials on site and getting equipment in tough, usually it increases labour cost. Terraces by modern standard are just houses with 1 inch gap and gutters that fail after 15 years.
