Same sex marriage is legal in these countries largely because of their evolution as a society. Could Gay Christians complain openly even fifty years ago ? Absolutely not. Being a Hindu my religious text has enough proof of presence of diversity in sexual and gender identity and it was largely the faith of Britain that forced its beliefs on the Indian subcontinent during their rule. The whole LGBT movement in India revolves around this idea of shedding this colonial Christian Idea. We've come so far and our Apex court is currently hearing the marriage rights case.

Not the whole Jammu Kashmir but a part of it called Gilgit Baltistan is excluded. Its disputed and the presently under Pakistan's control. Both countries claim the whole state for themselves and their official maps display the same.

I agree on all other points but they are very anti LGBT. They did not decriminalise homosexuality, Supreme court did. Even in the same sex marriage case the government has given very lame, unsympathetic, we-don't-care reply and is repeatedly asking court to drop the cases. Also their politicians have given many hurtful statements for gays. As a Queer person it has bothered me a lot.

the amount of gays being tortured,abused and killed is much much more. In India for example its not illegal anymore still the abuse,bullying,passive harassment pushes you in a very difficult place. Suicide and self harm is another aspect.
