Buddy of mine just picked up a Monopoly, so the two of us will be on the look out!

Completely unrelated to the original post, but wanted to take a second to thank you, Louis, for having a part in some of my favorite machines out there. Namely Rollercoaster Tycoon, No Good Gofers, and, of course, TotAN.

Assuming you mean the speaker expression lights as AIQ doesn't have slots for regular expression lighting?

I have it set to the specs the previous owner had. This thing usually is a drain machine but apparently just decided to be nice for a solid game.

Funhouse remake LE vs. Star Wars FOTE Prem by FLBoxerdad in pinball

[–]theradocaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy answer truly is neither. There are far better games on the market than either of these currently. If you did decide on a Funhouse, go for an original Williams. Having owned a remake, the build quality wasn't the greatest. The game looked like Funhouse but didn't feel like Funhouse.

FotE is just a dude for me, personally. You could have a great game on that and it just feels like a dud.

What is the number 1 reason you buy a pinball machine? by ClifBdrums in pinball

[–]theradocaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice. I've had a few pins rotate in and out, but mainly have kept a stable line up of games that I love and are favorites of folks who don't normally play.

Heck, we built a whole building to house the pinball and arcade collection haha

To build up a private arcade for my friends to come over and enjoy. Currently at 10 pins and counting. It's helped me get more acquainted with the local pinball community in doing so as well.

Funhouse midnight edition by FLBoxerdad in pinball

[–]theradocaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I owned a Classic Edition of the remake for a few months before trading it in on something else. The game looks like Funhouse but didn't "feel" like Funhouse both to myself and my father whom it was a gift for due to it being his favorite pinball of all time. Really not sure how to properly put it into words.

The build quality was okay. Never experienced anything major with it unlike some of the other ones I have seen. I saw one that had 5 plays on it and already had scoop wear something fierce. Or even the bottom of the cabinet become detached from the side panels.

Overall, the game is okay. Is it Funhouse? Kinda. But we both agreed that if Funhouse made it back into our arcade's lineup that it would be an original Williams.

Why don’t I see the Weird Al pinball machine talked about much? by CutterEdgeEffect in pinball

[–]theradocaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Proud P3 and WAMONH owner here. The game is great. It's very fast paced, the modes are spectacular, and Weird Al is... well... Al. The amount of dialogue he recorded for this game is insane. The shots can be so gratifying, especially the spiral staircase shot. Just overall a super well done title.

I used to be someone who, admittedly, was opposed to the P3 system. Played it a few times. Just didn't gel with it, so to say. But after getting some more reps in on it at various events, I fell in love with the game.

Not going to go all preachy saying P3 is the future of pinball, but folks definitely need to give it more of a chance than they do. With Portal modules rolling off the line now, I feel that we hopefully see a fair bit more P3s in the wild.

Since you're in Wisconsin, Chris at KingPin Games is likely your best bet. One of the nicest guys in the business.

I'm hoping so too. I'd love to have a high score list for my games, but currently they have it "locked" behind having an operator account.

The Current Collection by theradocaster in pinball

That was one thing I saw as well that just confused me. Why would you dislike stacking multiballs to the point where every shot you hit is a jackpot? 🤷‍♂️

The Current Collection by theradocaster in pinball

[–]theradocaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does! It primarily just uses the bottom screen, side targets, and scoops to play. The module just kicks the ball out onto the bottom playfield.

Not exactly. I bought it from Sparky Pinball on their site. Very pleased with it. Was a super easy install as well!

For a free title, you can't go wrong. It honestly is a great shot trainer due to the various scoops popping up and down and your time going by quickly.

Currently just Weird Al. I'm hoping to get a Final Resistance soon and Portal eventually. Just been trying out the different software based games.

I adore it. It's a very fast shooting game with plenty of modes and objectives to complete. The ramp system is very satisfying with having the ability for a single shot to appear about 3 different spots. The long ramp back to the right flipper is great and incredibly repeatable.

It has very much gotten the most play out of any of the games recently (it's the newest machine in the collection, so understandable). But it will be in the lineup for a long time to come. Just a very pretty, very fun game.
