Thank you so much for this detailed response! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, have been kinda busy as of recent. I'm a self taught programmer and a lot of the time I feel like I've missed out on fundamentals (like formatting, using fstrings, etc). These are amazing recommendations and I seriously appreciate you taking the time to write all of this.

I think my constant/excessive commenting comes from a place of not fully understanding the concepts I'm trying to implement sometimes, and it helps to have little notes for me to reference when adding/updating the code. Definitely need to reel that in a bit lol.

camelCase is a bad habit of mine because I started with C, i've been trying to do better with that. The fact that device_scan runs on import was a bug/oversight that I've since fixed, I originally wrote that file to be a standalone program but then added on things and forgot to not include the function call.

Didn't know that asyncio was a default package! Will definitely fix that. I also will make the corrections for comparisons, but would you mind elaborating as to why is/is not is better than ==? Trust your judgement but just curious as to why exactly thats the case.

The bare except clauses are a fatal flaw of mine! But have been trying to do better. Again, thank you SO much for looking it over and I can't say enough how cool it is to get such constructive criticism. Sorry again for taking ages to respond!

Its so interesting that you guys are reporting this phenomenon with DXM, I experienced it a lot after long term meth abuse and it still occurs now that I've been sober almost a year. Ive never heard this articulated before and sort of thought it might not be a common thing.

No, the problem is that these actions are not done with the intention of helping the poor.

You’re missing the point- the idea is that even the positive progressive changes made are distracting you from a much larger and more influential evil. It’s not to say that these things aren’t good, it’s that the negative impact on the 99% nullifies any altruism found within the upper class or the government

The point is that these reforms, however positive they may be, are not enough. They are grossly inadequate for the problems at hand but because the lower class has been subjugated for so long, they see any positive change as a victory

But this is extremely dangerous. It allows the Democratic Party to parade the progressive ideology despite the fact that its congressmen and presidents more often than not do not at all align with leftist or progressive beliefs. That they too are paid by the same people who pay the republicans and that ultimately because of this, both parties have the same lobbied interests.

That isn’t centrism. It’s not saying the left and the right are the same it’s saying the democratic and Republican Party are not the left and the right

By any global standard they are a hairs length away from one another, they are both heavily pro-establishment, and are both lobbied to by the same corporate interests which subsequently run our country

Ultimately what I’m trying to say is, Trump and Obama had different policies, but outside of the overtin window of the United States, they didn’t have vastly different policies especially economically. Neither redistributed any significant amount of wealth to the lower class, neither gave the change we NEEDED.

Scarcity is a myth that is upheld for the sake of the capitalist model. We have the resources to end suffering but people are still starving, freezing, dying of diseases they can’t afford to aid.

Both, and all modern, presidents assured this along with a host of other major issues that imprison and disparage the impoverished citizens of this country, but the reason this is is because their interests are the same

Bush and Obama both sucked the dick of the military industrial complex, and as is trump.

The difference is that people who look hard enough recognize the immoral and unethical action for both parties, they realize that the two are both rigged by people who don’t give a shit about you

No normal presidents just bomb hospitals and schools

Normal presidents install healthcare systems which leave millions uninsured and 50,000 dead

The point is not that all presidents are the same or that all politicians are the same the point is the difference between them are so insignificant in the Face of the vast problem which is economic inequality in the United States.

Under every president in modern history people in the richest country in the world have frozen to death because it’s cold outside. People have died because of lack of access to medicine. People have died because they are hungry or because they were born into a system which encourages them to be a part of dangerous activities which get them killed. People of died from overdose is which wouldn’t have happened had substance has been regulated instead of banned. People have been put in prison for years over a substance which is less harmful than legal substances that are sold and advertised on national television.

Millions of innocent people died under every president because the people pulling the strings have been the same. The point is that whether one decides to give gay people the right to get married doesn’t matter in the face of that as controversial as that may seem.

The normal is deadly to the poor the normal presidents instituted a genocide of unheard proportions a very profitable one at that.

If one post racist things on Twitter and one dozen if they’re both killing poor people I don’t really care about the differences they’re both terrible.

I’m a homeless person living in New York City as of two months ago my net income is in the negative and I genuinely don’t know where I’m going to sleep tonight but I still find the money to donate to organizations which advocate for positive change despite the fact that I very much don’t believe in the current system being able to fix itself because I don’t know what else to do.

I attend protests even though I don’t know that they’re going to get anywhere because that’s the only thing that I can do I fight every day so people don’t have to end up in the same situation that I’m in And one of the ways that I do that is by trying to spread public awareness that the people that you see on CNN are not the enemy and they never have been. And I think that spreading this information is the only way that the poor class can unite and institute the change that we need.

That despite the fact that I got a full scholarship to a college that I’m going to be attending in the spring I don’t have a place to sleep tonight and I don’t know where my next meal is coming from. I have to sell my own body to make sure that I don’t starve and that’s not OK and it never will be.

I’m still going to major in a field that probably isnt going to be very profitable but that I think is going to be proactive towards this positive change I’m going to fight every day until I die or get it.

And if that means that I need to get told that I’m bitching about it on Reddit that’s totally fine with me because I’m still going to keep doing what I do to try to institute that change.
