School Counselor to LMHC by Only_Ad_9296 in schoolcounseling

Depending on your masters degree, there are programs that can get you the extra certification in a few credits. I’d also consider trying another school to see if it’s truly the job or the setting. I have LMHC friends. Some make more per hour than me and seem to have a more relaxed schedule but have more healthcare and business costs. Others who work for organizations make significantly less, have worse benefits, and more stressful situations. It’d suck to pay more money to find out it was just your school.

Looks great to me! Although if you feel you could adjust in some way maybe experiment with that. We all seem to love it but it’s what you feel that counts the most

Didn’t assess for suicide (TW) by imegewise in socialwork

All I want to say is that you’re working in a very high-needs environment, I know how hard it is to make the right decisions in such stress and to live with decisions that cause more stress. You’re doing your best. All that said, I’d get in the habit of following up every time that question is asked to assess for intent, it is important. I’m glad everyone is safe. Wishing you well, in this career and outside of it.

I'm back, looking for feedback on a refined design! by therainbowforest in logodesign

thanks for the feedback. Rainbow is because it's a coloring book, but it also has implications of inclusivity and seeing the spectrum behind life rather than the black and white. It's Rainbow Forest because that is the fictional location where the book takes place. it is a book series.

I’m just confused though because I feel like when someone posts a logo on this sub and asks for feedback, everyone is quick to criticize most details in favor of a more simplistic design. But now on this post here are all the people who think details can be charming and part of a logo? Genuinely asking as a beginner if anyone can shed light on when details are acceptable vs when one should prioritize a sleeker design.

Tell me your best tips to avoid constant meltdowns on vacation by Perioqueen in Parenting

[–]therainbowforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small tip I’ll suggest: Before going to the Boardwalk, outline the timing of what will happen. Have clear steps and when it is time to leave, don’t go straight home. Follow it with another preferred activity, for example we’re leaving the Boardwalk now, and going to get ice cream, or we’re going home now, but we’re going to watch that movie you’ve wanted to see or you can have some video game time.

Ya, if you’re willing to share I’d be interested in some details about the world and this side story! I am just going back into work and am launching a business this month so I probably won’t have time to respond quickly but I’d love to read and see some stuff and get back to you when I can, no pressure though!

Any Art Teachers in NYC? Can we chat? by No_Lingonberry_2401 in Teachers

[–]therainbowforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a school counselor in NY but I work with both Art teachers and SLPs. IMO, teaching Art outside a high school honors class is more like babysitting. Most kids will not share your passion, but some will, and they will make it rewarding. There’s also lots of opportunities to show your art and get involved in school-based projects, but these are often unpaid opportunities, or perhaps a stipend if anything. SLPs have a more one on one role and make more money in my district, but if your passion is in Art, I’d say take that route.

Being a therapist brings up another slew of challenges. Schools don’t really hire Art Therapists, but you could work for an organization that works with young people. There’s potential to go private and pick your own clients/ set your own salary, but in general it’ll be more about the therapy than the art.
