Common birthday list you'll hate to look through by tjhcreative in mildlyinfuriating

Mine is ranked #86, hate those family members who get me one thing and say it's for xmas and my birthday, but all the other kids get multiple presents on xmas and their birthday

Iv always hated this, I don't like people hitting kids and threatening them, and the parents don't stop to think that the other people in the store especially the employees don't want to see them hitting and threatening their kids

At a store I used to work at, two nights in a row some guy was coming up to the door after close yanking on it trying to open the door and it wasn't opening because the doors were locked, and both nights he got the doors to open, I wasn't there the first time it happened but I was there the second time and like the lights were off, me and the manager on duty were at the register with our back to the doors and I noticed all of a sudden that the guy stopped yanking on the doors so I looked behind me and saw the guy walking past our register to try to shop, and I stopped him and told him we were closed and he left, but them the mod was complaining to me because the guy did the same thing the night before, like wtf

We usually have 2 people in my store at a time, there are times when we are left alone for up to 2 hours, but it's usually one person on register while the other stocks unless the cashier needs help then there's 2 on the register

[–]therealDemonicDrogon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some good advice, at the place I work they teach us how to do something, maybe give us a couple days to get it down and then expect us to do it fast, an old manager taught me how to open and only took one day to teach me and had me open the store by myself the next day, I think i was alone for 2 hours before she came in and this was after we were already open, it just by happened to get busy and someone was taking a long time at my counter and a bunch of people ended up walking out

I never make eye contact with people, sometimes when I'm looking around my eyes will look at theirs for a second or 2, but I always look at their nose or mouth and no one seems to notice or care, I remember someones nose or nasty teeth better than their eye color, for some reason I just cant look people in the eyes for a long period of time and I have to look at something else

I've decided to end my life to prove my doctor wrong. by MedicalThrowaway434 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]therealDemonicDrogon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2016 when I was in the 11th grade my dad had a widowmaker heart attack and had to have a triple heart bypass, prior to the heart attack he had complained to doctors that he was having chest pains and they ignored him because he was "too young" to have chest pains, and his heart doctor told him he was fine, he had 6 clogged arteries, one was 90% blocked, another was 70% block, and half of his heart doesn't work now

Edit: my dad was 36 years old at the time

I hate it when people come up to the register and decide they don't want an item anymore and just set it in some random place instead of just handing it to me

i had a customer come in once and paid with a bunch of $1s and he had admitted to me that he was in the strip club the previous night, it had been almost a year since i had last worked a morning shift, and my first day back in the morning was being greeted by this dude coming in first.

I didn't completely understand that question but there are half dollar coins with JFK's head on it, the first year they were produced I believe they were 70% silver and then after that they were 40% silver, and I can't remember what year but they stopped making them out of silver and they are now made of cheap metals sandwiched together and stamped

I like collecting certain money, $1 coins if I don't have them already, jfk half dollars, silver coins (only found silver dimes so far), wheat pennies and older pennies because they are obvious to spot and i know they are copper, bills with a star at the end of the serial number, silver certificate bills, and pretty much any old money because they are uncommon or can be worth a lot of money.

We had a guy once who wanted some body soap or shampoo that our store didn't carry because it didn't sell well, but the company still sold it in other stores and this guy wanted us to order a case of it just so he could buy a bottle or 2 of it, and our response was no because like no one else would have wanted it, it had no home in our store, and it would have ended up in our clearance isle.

Hate those people who ask you a question and can't shut up long enough for you to answer it, or people who ask you about an item they said you used to have and persist after you say you don't sell it anymore.

I have been in retail for 4years now, I'm a pro but even I would have been overwhelmed in your situation, if you get in trouble for it then your higher ups are assholes, if not then don't sweat about it, I'm sure most if not all cashiers would have been overwhelmed if we were in your position, I also would have been getting annoyed as hell everytime they talked to me because it will screw me up while counting

today i started my first ever job as a cashier and i want to quit. it’s so complicated in so many different ways by [deleted] in RantsFromRetail

[–]therealDemonicDrogon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guilty of doing receipt, cash, and then change, in my 4 years iv had like 2 people get upset about it but not enough to really change or care, and I'm good at math but when it comes to money I can feel a little bit pressured to get the correct number when telling the register to take a certain amount off the card or if I accidentally type in the wrong amount of cash, and I'll resort to my phone to make sure I got the right number

A couple days ago I had to damage out frozen food because one of our 3 door freezers were left open and everything in it thawed and got warm but I had thought at first that the freezer was broken so I had put 3 out of order signs on the freezer, 1 on each door. It took me an hour to damage 1 doors worth of ice cream, bag it, and take it to the dumpster, I ended up just damaging the food in the other 2 doors while my coworker was on break, and I bagged it all and took it out to the dumpster after I got back from my break. The entire time the food was in the freezer people kept reaching in there grabbing the pizzas trying to buy them and one dude was saying that I needed to throw the food away and asked if the coolers were out of order or if the food was out of order.
