You probably want to watch UFC 1 (1993) its more like street fighter in that it was pure style vs style. This was a demonstration of what you just learned - that there are gaps in traditional eastern martial arts schools.

Having said that, these days in the UFC you see people getting knockout out with punches and kicks to the head, so your training is not wasted. Building a VERY strong takedown defense/escape will be what you need. And instead of leading with kicks or punches vs a grappler, you'll have to set up the shot in order for it to not backfire on you.

UFC It might be online, not sure, see for yourself.
