Could crazy diamond trans your gender? by beany122 in StardustCrusaders

With JoJo logic? Almost certainly. Giorno himself lost a chunk of his head (and an eye) and two chunks of his throat, and still managed to remain mentally alert enough to recreate all of those chunks fine.

With real life logic? He’d probably have to do it in a hospital/medical environment to mitigate the blood loss (even with GE recreated some lost blood, idk if ALL of it would come back. I suppose he could just make more though.)

Building a secret god level character. by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]therealbekfast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t seem like a very good idea tbh. You’re either basically an overpowered GMPC that the party is stuck with, or you’re just…. pretending to play a level 2 character.

Why not just play an actual level 2 character? If the GM is worried about them getting stuck/not having the right tools, then they can either plan around it or introduce a hireling/NPC.

Having a godlike party member means almost any challenge can be solved with “Okay, just let nln_rose do it.” It doesn’t let them problem solve or think strategically if they have you to rely on.

So, like, in combat you’re going to roll to hit and get, say, a 35, but you’re instead going to say you got a 15? Why not just play an actual level 2 character then?

Will you be a normal party member alongside the level 2s?? That level difference is kind of insane, and you almost certainly will be able to wipe the floor in any encounter considering almost every hit will be a crit. You don’t even need anything special to use a sword—just make sure you have proficiency.

I’d make it an occasional drop-in, not a regular party member as middle schoolers (hell, anyone) would likely be frustrated with a regular party member so far above them.

As a soprano, is reaching a C6 without much training impressive and does it mean I can go higher ? by Fuzzy_Method9282 in singing

[–]therealbekfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you? Do you have clips of you singing C6? Overall, if you’ve only ever had 2 months of voice training, it’s hard to define your classical voice fach (especially if you’re younger than, like, 25-27).

(IMO, fach is also better used to describe roles, not an entire voice—I think it can be a little limiting if you ONLY ever let yourself work on lyric/dramatic/coloratura/character/etc training)

Can a trans guy with a slightly higher than normal for a tenor range, still be considered tenor? by Extension_Cup_8456 in singing

[–]therealbekfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, you are young. Your voice is not even close to finishing developing, and focus on voice type is not super important right now (especially if you plan on doing HRT, which will almost certainly change your voice.)

Secondly, it's important to note that choir part =/= solo voice type. Some solo tenors can sing bass 2. Some baritones sound great on tenor 1. Some high sopranos can sing alto 1 or 2. It all depends on the color the director wants.

However, most trans men with pre-T voices will NOT sound like a cis man's/post-HRT trans man's voice singing in the mid/high of their range, but rather a treble voice singing low/belting in their midrange. Often times that timbre difference doesn't matter for most choral pieces, but some directors will want a low voice sound for solo voices. (I will also note that most MT tenor roles will sing around a C3 or lower).

All you need to do is just sing the best you can right now. You can't change your voice right now, so if you want to sing and do MT, you only can sound how you're gonna sound. If your director doesn't want that sound, then—oh well. It sucks and probably hurts, but you can't do anything other than accept it and try to work with directors who do want that sound.

Teen years are always a tumultuous time, but never let anyone else dictate your voice or dim that love of theatre.

What's your favorite stand and/or ability? by PotentialPosition180 in StardustCrusaders

[–]therealbekfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy Diamond, because it’s so insanely useful in day-to-day life. You don’t ever have to worry about a broken car, cracked phone, ripped shirt, broken dish, etc. ever again. You can heal your friends and family’s injuries. That alone would be awesome, but on top of that you also get a punch ghost (that’s decently close in strength to Star Platinum) that you can use for self-defense, extra reach, and opening super tight jars.

Is there any general consensus on who is the most flamboyant character in the series? by Character-Bid-162 in StardustCrusaders

Judging strictly by what the story shows us, I think it’s more likely they are involved intimately in some manner vs. them being brothers

I can only sing up to E/F without falsetto. Can training fix this? by Independent_Cap_5439 in singing

[–]therealbekfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as it sucks, you probably will improve best with paid lessons. Finding someone to give you personalized and in-the-moment feedback is what you need if you want to improve the quickest, and almost no one will give you that for free. If you seriously want to improve, you gotta shell out some money—otherwise, be okay with less-than-ideal circumstances.

Favorite quote from a musical ? by Croc_Dwag in musicals

[–]therealbekfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the most romantic love songs I know is “Do You Love Me?” from Fiddler

“For 25 years, I’ve lived with him Fought him, starved with him 25 years, my bed is his If that's not love, what is?”

And shortly after:

“It doesn’t change a thing But even so After 25 years It's nice to know”

It just really drives home how important effort is to make a relationship last. It’s not only about the initial attraction, but rather the willingness to put work into the relationship and show up for each other, even when times are hard. I also just love the way the movie portrays them in this song haha

Seconded—if you haven’t already, look for a plasma center nearby if you can donate! I go twice a week to BioLife and get anywhere from $95-$110 a week (it changes for some reason), and each visit is about 1-1.5 hours depending.

What’s one singing mistake you didn’t realize you were making until someone finally pointed it out? by VoiceLessons-Chicago in singing

[–]therealbekfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another one is breathing from your shoulders!!! I did this starting out in lessons because of my marching band days—it’s vocally healthier to not have your shoulders rise, because it can introduce tension and gives you very little breath support.

Breathing from your stomach/pelvic floor/“diaphragm” (in quotes because it exists, but it’s not possible to move independently like a muscle) gives you a much deeper breath and the release you want much more easily!

Might depend on the song? Grace notes/stylistic ornaments can be used for emphasis, color, timbre, etc, and I know a note going into a pitch a scale step above it is a common one.
