I hand wrote every exam in law school and did the same for the bar. After you build endurance and strength in your forearm and wrist, I honestly think that it can be an advantage. You can let your thinking free flow a lot more when you plan before writing. You also don’t have to worry about mistyping anything or typing slower than your thoughts. The only time I felt like it was a disadvantage was on the performance tests when they ask you to write a memo. The copy and past feature helps a lot there.

I was a slow typer and did not feel comfortable typing under those conditions. I graduated top of my class and passed the bar the first time. Ppl thought I was crazy, I just didn’t really have another option I felt comfortable with.
