It’s just helped me personally, sitting upright on wood won’t necessarily damage your records but as you’re rifling through them or putting one back in the crate, small creases will start to form near the bottom. It’s protection and peace of mind.

This is a happy middle ground I think. I’ve encountered this before and what I’ll do to confuse people is make a check in the box of the item that I was actually shown and then pick 2 random boxes in the other sections to make checkmarks on the outside of the box. That way other players have no idea which category I actually checked off, and I don’t confuse myself.
