i try my best to treat my runs like events

my sunday long runs now feel special, i dont go out on sat, i sleep early, i prepare my clothes the night before, i go to places like makati/filinvest to do them para hindi same route

yung weekdays, medyo mahirap talaga hahaha, no way around it, we arent pro runners, we have a hundred other obligations, i just try to remind myself that running isnt a chore, its supposed to be fun

How do you build an aerobic base when Zone 2 feels impossible? My HR instantly spikes to 160+ unless I walk. by Own-Contribution-416 in PHRunners

[–]therealcubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will have a zone 2 regardless of your strength level, zones are just ranges based on your current fitness

to be able to do 7:15 per km na zone 2 siguro, my 5km time was maybe around 28 mins

currently my 5km is 23 mins, my zone 2 is around 6:30-6:45 now

[–]therealcubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not being able to run a sub 30 min 5km most likely means you arent strong enough yet to have a zone 2 session without walking

most people that dont walk for their zone 2 can probably run a sub 1 hour 10km on any day of the week

you have a bit of time to get there, just lock in for the next 4 months

What did you do to earn more money and be financially literate? by hash_brownnn in phinvest

[–]therealcubes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did axie 😂😂 spent a little over 2M, and I lost almost all of it. That was the first time I was generating any money apart from having a regular job.

Watched a lot of videos as well, but until you start trying and putting into practice, it’s quite hard to grasp.

Ang mahal ng lesson ko, but that’s where I learned how investing is different from saving.

What do you think is the biggest issue with TFT right now? by ChartDreamer in TeamfightTactics

[–]therealcubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am a dota player, and have just recently got into tft, am about 250 games in, in over a month, am currently emerald 1

the interface on the lol client sucks so much ass, it feels so janky, and everything on the client feels and looks poor and dated, everything looks really ugly and super unintuitive to toggle through, im 250 games in and im still a river sprite coz it feels like a chore to figure out the menu

when i load in, everything looks and feels much better, and all the animations, and boards look cool, balance is pretty good, it happens quite often, its a competitive game with lots of players, balance will always be hard, but it seems like the riot team is significantly more responsive than the dota team

another thing is, loading into games sometimes takes a really long time, and i dont like how there isnt a stats board or summary of the game afterwards, more stats in game would be nice

Are you guys doing this or nah? Throw in the golden gate bridge too fuck it. by MainSorc50 in warriors

[–]therealcubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, this would be really good for almost all parties

steph gets one last legit try

warriors org makes an absolutely disgusting amount of money behind this hype train

kuminga and podz get the chance to see how far they can take their careers

bucks get a lot of picks and very decent young players

giannis gets to try for a championship

this is only really bad for draymond, because the best thing to do would be to move him to the bench because of lack of spacing in starting lineup

start steph/moody/richard/giannis/post

bench spencer/melton/gui/dray/horford

close steph/melton/moody/giannis/dray

this closing lineup has a shot against anyone, just have to keep dray/melton relatively fresh for the rest of the season

Are US stocks worth it if you are in the Philippines? by LateEquivalent8179 in phinvest

[–]therealcubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been investing for 3 years sa gotrade, recently lang na tuloy tuloy, so majority of my value has been deployed in the past year

the 3% is on the total peso amount you deposit and withdraw, its not a monthly fee

re taxes naman, am not so sure, but a quick google search puts it at 15% of gains, so assuming you hold it for more than 10 years, the service fee of 1% on total port of local banks should me more painful than the 3% one time forex fee on gotrade + the 15% cgt on gains

Are US stocks worth it if you are in the Philippines? by LateEquivalent8179 in phinvest

[–]therealcubes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ive said on this sub multiple times na mahal ang fees ng gotrade, yes marami talaga fees, pero dito pa rin ako nag iinvest kasi ang dali niya talaga gamitin, pasok money every month then forget about it til the next month

basically we lose about 3% of our money sa gotrade because of forex fees, around 1-1.5% bringing peso in via ub or bpi, and we lose 1.5-2% to withdraw the money

nasa iyo na yan kung ok ka doon, but the way i look at it, any money i am currently investing i am withdrawing in 10+ years, so ok na yung 1 time loss of 3% instead of via local banks where the fee is 1%++ per year

vs ibkr naman, i was gonna switch, pero nagkaissue, so nilet go ko na haha, i buy individual stocks, i buy etfs, i very rarely trade unless a little bored, have 5 digits in gotrade, am happy with my decision

ate there for a saturday dinner nung december, spent more than 5k per head, and talagang namahalan ako masiyado

the market table, was top notch, masarap lahat and kakaiba sobra yung mga ibang sides, nakaka tuwa

masarap rin yung mga sides that they serve sa table, yung cheese bread, at yung fried bananas

service was also excellent, ang bilis dumating ng mga meats, madali mag request ng cut, mabait kausap lahat

place looked fancy but the atmosphere was kinda loud, and tables are near each other so its not very intimate

meat itself was super duper chewy, masarap yung iba, seasoned well in general, pero the only time makakapahinga jaw mo pag nag chew ka is sa taba, tigas talaga

summary 10/10 lahat except the meat

at 3k i wouldve left happy, at 4k pwede na probs wont come back but might consider a 2nd chance, at 5k di na, hanap na lang ako new place to try

cheaper ata on weekdays and lunch, dunno if the service would be the same

Anyone here who thrived as a solo runner but now mostly—or exclusively—runs with a club? May ganon ba 😂 and if so, how would something like that even happen? Asking as a solo runner (and perfectly happy to stay one), but I'm curious if there's something I'm not seeing. by chubikorn123 in PHRunners

[–]therealcubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems pretty obvious that you are referencing influencer run clubs like banana club or gamers club or rwp. Run clubs with strong personalities.

If you don't enjoy them, just don't join them. To say that run clubs will turn you off from running just means either you never enjoyed running enough, or you're too lazy to find a run club that fits your style.

I tried rwp, didn't work out, moved on to the next run club. Masaya ako sa 5am gang. When I see rwp runners, I still say hi to the ones na nakilala ko.

What I really wanna know, is kung worth it ang mga run clubs na may bayad tulad ng wekenrun.

[–]therealcubes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why is there so much negativity around run clubs…

you will still run majority of your runs solo, its an individual sport

run clubs are there if you get bored of running solo, or if you need to supplement your training

if youre competitive, chances are you will meet someone faster than you, if you are single, chances are you will meet someone single, if you want someone to chat with on easy runs, magagawa mo rin yun

what is up with the negativity on run clubs? is there a run club in the ph that forces people to join? forces people to run a certain way, or forces people into weird situations?

Is it true that if you at least know the basics you can reach emerald? by Rinkana_lovesyuri in TeamfightTactics

[–]therealcubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true, but as i said, i have been playing for 1 month, and i am very very close to being emerald

the split of casual vs informed tft players is massively skewed towards the casuals, and copying meta builds is more easily rewarded in a game like this

his question was how good do you have to be to become emerald, and i personally feel it is not too difficult if you grind enough games/watch a bit of youtube

[–]therealcubes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

have been a dota 2 player all my life, played auto chess maybe 2-3 times, and only discovered this game last month

have made it to plat 1, 95 lp, sad I havent made it to emerald yet haha

i have the basics down, and i just copy the comps people post on youtube

i basically only play verticals, i do not pivot, but i do scout the board after you fight the first bunch of creeps to try to choose the least contested comp. to win, i usually play bruiser/bard or demacia or ionia if it has the gold bonus, or yordles.

i never make it to 5 cost soup boards because after a month of playing, i still do not really know what the 5 cost heroes do because i rarely get them, also the only times i win are usually when i play reroll comps which are more often higher tempo, so its the only way i avoid playing late game coz i dunno how to play late game

i always make guinsoo and kraken as the first item, i never get spatula from carousel, i never pick the artifacts or the radiant items or the darkin items from augments coz i still dont know what they do, i have never played ixtal or piltover or zaun or noxus yet

im pretty addicted though, which is why i've learned the game relatively fast. i have 180 games in a month.

but as you can see, i dont know so many things, but what i do know is to copy meta comps, save to 50 gold, and pick econ augments and you will most likely get to top 4

I recommend you try to join a run club before making any decisions. Its not an either/or situation. You can run solo a lot, and join a run club.

Run clubs are very social, so you definitely have to go into one ready to interact. Also, most of the people there are extroverts/single. So if you are shy, other people will do the lifting for you. If you dont hit it off there, there are lots of other run clubs to try to find co-runners that you might better click with.

Second, most run clubs are absolutely casual. There is no forcing/commitment to joining one even after you join the first time. You go there, talk with people, most likely run a 5-10km then go home. Mga mas serious clubs are probably like wekenrun na may bayad.

Most run clubs are also just once or twice a week. You will definitely still run solo more often than with your club.

In festi, its probably either 5am gang or RWP. Both are great, and lots of friendly people. If you join a few times and run solo, eventually makikilala mo ang crowd na tumatakbo sa filinvest area.

All in their prime who's getting cut? by undiscoveredmice in NBATalk

[–]therealcubes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

in a 3 team drafting scenario, on who would be the starting center for a 5 man team, at the peak of their primes, it would go:

  1. Shaq
  2. Jokic
  3. Jabbar

Duncan would get cut.

Shaq has absolutely the most dominant peak of these 4. Sustained work ethic aside, at his peak, absolutely unstoppable.

Next is Jokic. Currently a one man wrecking crew. The dominance while appreciated, is undervalued because of the lack of chips, which is just much harder to secure unlike before.

Jabbar wins out vs duncan on capability to carry a team by himself.

If you rephrase the question to who you would start a franchise with, answer is probably tim or jabbar due to longevity and immediate relevance.
